How long do Oompah bands play for?
An oompah band will typically play do two 45-minute sets, with 15-minute breaks in between sets. Sets of longer than 3 hours are more unusual but every band has its own standard timings, so it's always best to check with them first. The length of an oompah band's performance will depend on the event and the client's request. For example, at a beer festival, an oompah band might play for several hours throughout the day. At a wedding, they might play for a shorter period of time, such as during the cocktail hour or reception.
Do oompah bands take song requests?
Yes, most oompah bands will take song requests if you contact them in advance of your event. Oompah band music is usually traditional German and Bavarian songs or covers of modern pop songs, but bands are also often happy to learn new songs if you have a specific request. Of course, the band's ability to accommodate song requests will depend on a number of factors, such as the complexity of the song, how much advance notice they have, and their overall repertoire.
