Our mission is to support musicians by making it simple for anyone to book them through a fair and transparent online platform.
Encore began in 2014 when James McAulay, a cellist, met James King, a pianist.
Encore began as a network of music students around the UK, and reached 2,500 members within its first year. Demand for these musicians from customers organising events started to grow, and so in 2015 the team began working on technology to make booking musicians simpler than ever.
Since then, Encore has facilitated thousands of bookings in every corner of the UK, and has become home to over 25,000 musicians and 10,000 bands and ensembles.
Encore was acquired by Mixcloud in 2024, and we've been working hard since to make Encore the best it's ever been, bringing unforgettable musical memories to more events than ever before.
