The Oompapas

We are a 7-piece brass band, entertaining people with a mixture of traditional German drinking tunes, and more contemporary classics. These tongue-in-cheek numbers range from 7 Nation Oompah, Sweet Caroline Oompah, Living on an Oompah Prayer, to Twist & Oompah, and ABBA does Oompah. We call it “Bavarian Disco”. It’s very silly, but it’s also great music, and people can't help dancing! We are busiest entertaining the crowds at beer festivals and Oktoberfests, but we're very pleased to get your party going at any time of the year. We love playing at wedding receptions, and there's nothing quite like a Bavarian-themed birthday party. We're happy to adjust the balance to suit your audience, both in advance and on the night where we can adjust what we do to fit with the vibe. So for example, we can go big on the traditional music, blend into dance tunes to fill the dance floor, or dial up the cheese factor to get everyone laughing (or a mixture of everything!). Our regular lineup is 2 trumpets (or flugels), 3 trombones, tuba and drum kit. We can help to get people joining in with your party games, or run a few ourselves, and we understand that different things work with different audiences.
