Big Smoke Brass – UK are changing perceptions of brass instruments with their hard-hitting, high-energy performances of well-known pop tunes unlike anything you have heard before. Formed in 2017, the totally unique line up of 4 trumpets, sousaphone and drums creates a canvas for timeless songs to be reimagined into infectiously feel-good tunes which are perfect for getting the party started. The band was created by 6 friends whilst studying together at music college in London. Their repertoire of arrangements is arranged by the band and combines with sharp presentation (the band’s signature coloured braces) and tight choreography. Their eye-catching performances have included celebrity events, festival appearances, live radio broadcasts as well as a busy schedule of private events such as weddings and parties. Big Smoke Brass performed at our wedding and were absolutely brilliant. The dance floor was packed all evening, the band brought such great energy and that fed into everyone in the room. We also asked them to learn a song for our first dance and they nailed it! Communication in the run up was great and we had no worries at all going into the day. Flawless performance, so much fun, would thoroughly recommend!

BSB were amazing! Great communication and organisation before the event, and they brought the party on the day! We had the band and singer, which was a really nice combination, to keep some nice variety between the songs. We also had the DJ after, who played a great set to keep us all dancing away through the night. Overall an amazing experience, a huge thanks to BSB for helping make our wedding so special!

Big smoke brass were amazing at our wedding! We went to see them live before deciding to book them but knew we would go ahead the moment they started playing. They arrived in plenty of time on the day despite travelling a couple of hours and the dancefloor was completely packed whilst they played. Great communication and great song options, cannot recommend them enough!

We hired the band for our wedding in the Cotswolds and are so pleased with our past selves for that excellent decision. Flawless, fun and impossible not to dance to, the band were friendly, professional, and chocked with talent and heart. Highly recommend them for your event, that's if you want a good 'un.

Energy! Big Smoke Brass - UK pride ourselves on the positive energy that we can add to any event whether it be a wedding, birthday party, sporting event, club night or anything else. Our high impact visuals combined with infectious covers of classic pop songs guarantee a party atmosphere.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Individually our members have performed at renowned venues such as Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Stadium, Birmingham Symphony Hall to name just a few. Big Smoke Brass - UK have performed at many exciting venues such as St John's Smith Square, ArcelorMittal Orbit, BBC Broadcasting House, Ashridge House and a large number of wedding venues across the UK.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Big Smoke Brass - UK draw influences from a whole host of musical acts including Youngblood Brass Band, Hot 8 Brass Band and Lucky Chops to name a few.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We have performed live on BBC Radio 3, we have provided entertainment at celebrity launch events and made television appearances.

Do you have different line-up options?

We are pleased to offer our two Party Band line-ups which are a sure-fire way to get the party started at any event. Want entertainment on the move? The 7-Piece Roaming Band is the ultimate mobile entertainment and great for drinks receptions, surprise appearances and sporting events. We also offer an Oompah Party Band line-up for Oktoberfest events.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free - we will play music through our PA system in the breaks between the band sets. If you'd like to use our PA system either before or after the band sets, we are happy to arrange that for an additional cost. We also offer a DJ service - enquire for more details.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. Some venues require an early arrival for a discrete set-up, this is not a problem and can be arranged for an additional fee.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes - our Roaming Band line-up is the ultimate mobile entertainment! Please note that this is an acoustic line-up only.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA system is included in your quote. We do not currently provide any staging or lighting.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £50 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc. We cannot take song requests on the day of the event.
