Dolly Mavies is a Singer/Songwriter based between Oxford and London; with Welsh roots and soulful sounds, Dolly's music captivates, with haunting vocals and ambient tones. Her combination of folk, soul and acoustic guitar create an emotive and poetic soundscape channelling life, love and loss. Dolly’s debut EP ‘Behind Closed Eyes, released in December 2015, climbed to #25 in the iTunes singer-songwriter chart. Dolly is currently writing for a new release for 2017. Dolly has been experimenting with new sounds, you can expect to hear Dolly’s angelic voice alongside larger instrumentation. In addition to writing for her solo release, Dolly has been collaborating with the Banbury based 3 piece Zurich, writing a new single with front man Adrian Banks which will be released in 2017. 2016 saw Dolly reach the Semi-Final of the Meet and Jam Singer/Songwriter competition in association with Island records, support Zurich at The Jericho Tavern, play The O2 Academy Oxford as part of BBC Introducing's Uprising, release her debut music video for The Rain and headline her first tour in South Wales. Dolly has supported Zurich at The Jericho Tavern in Oxford, supported Coasts and Little Comets at AKA, played The Tin at The Coal Vaults in Coventry, played at Hootananny's in Brixto, The Half Moon in Putney, The Rescue Rooms in Nottingham and Porters in Cardiff. Dolly has also played live on BBC Radio Oxford, Phoenix FM in Essex, BrFM in Wales and BBC Radio Coventry, as well as appearing on That's Oxfordshire TV and Bay TV, Swansea. Dolly’s influences include: Patti Smith, Eva Cassidy, Joni Mitchell, David Bowie, and an array of punk rock bands. Dolly has supported Zurich, Coasts, Little Comets and Pixel Fix. Dolly Mavies has been likened to artists such as: Florence and the Machine, London Grammar and Daughter.

Dolly played guitar and sang for our wedding ceremony and drinks reception. She is amazingly talented, and so many of our guests came up to me to comment on how incredible her voice is. You won’t be disappointed if you book her.

Absolutely outstanding musician!!! Got to see Dolly Mavies perform live at The Courtyard Acoustica 54 the Monday just gone. Can I say the raw talent and fantastic songs she has written were absolutely amazing!!! Really feel good music, goosebumps will strike the arms and you will be left with a great smile on your face!!! Get and support this fantastic musician!!! 10/10!!!
