J. R Hemingway has over 10 years experience in playing Folk/Rock songs at Weddings, birthdays, and many other different types of events, private and public. With a large repertoire of songs, always happy to learn a particular song (s) to make your special occasion, event, as tailored to you as you wish. J. R Hemingway also plays in a duo with an amazing violinist/backing vocalist (if this is something that you're interested in - please request) I am Essex born and raised; at a young age I knew my calling was music. Inspired by front men like Bruce Springsteen & Caleb Followill and with a desire to create my own art, I bought my first guitar. As I got older and my confidence grew I started writing. Because your wedding day is one off, if not the most special day of your life, I want it to be the perfect day, so I aim to be as flexible as possible for you, in regards of what you want to make your day extra special. Upon request – I will learn particular songs (e.g. for your first dance or for your walk down the aisle.) I can play/sing at any stage of your wedding day that you wish. I’ve been asked to and have played as guests are arriving, during the ceremony, as guests exit the ceremony, for guests as wedding photos are being taken, during wedding breakfast, in the evening before the DJ or the band. BAND I offer the option to book me + my amazing band for the evening reception, if that’s something you’re interested in (for that bigger ‘full band’ sound). We play anything from Folk Rock to Indie songs, from upbeat dancing songs, to delicate slow dance songs. And again, we are happy to learn particular songs for you.
