"Lesley took a challenge for my grandmothers funeral as it was last minute and her communication was fantastic. She listened to what I wanted and even to the genre I asked (reggae) and really pulled through. I was so busy on the day trying to arrange everything and Lesley used initiative and followed the plan and played beautifully. My family all said it was beautiful and was a surprise to a lovely send off. Thank you again Lesley. "

"Jack played the violin at my husband’s funeral on Friday, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. His music was beautiful and created such a special, emotional atmosphere for the service. He was incredibly respectful and sensitive throughout, which meant so much to us on such a difficult day. He also took the time to tailor the playlist exactly to what I wanted, which made it feel very personal and meaningful. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and thoughtful musician. Many thanks Lisa xx"

Take the stress out of hiring musicians with Encore
What kind of music can a violinist play?
Pretty much anything! Violinists will usually be most comfortable playing classical music, but that doesn't mean they won't be able whip up fresh renditions of your favourite pop, folk, or jazz tunes. Best to check first before asking them to play krautrock though.
Will I need to provide the violinist with any equipment?
Other than a seat for breaks, probably not. If your venue is small, they will likely play unamplified. All they'll need to make the music happen is their violin, a bow, and a receptive audience (oh, and probably a music stand). If your venue is larger, they should be able to provide amplification.
Do violinists normally play with backing tracks?
It depends. If you only want the violinist’s performance to include classical pieces, they probably won’t need backing tracks. If the violinist’s performance includes pop songs or other styles, they may be able to provide backing tracks to fill out their performance. They’ll often perform the melody line of popular tunes, alongside pre-prepared backing tracks (think: ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran, or ‘Skyfall’ by Adele - these songs sound great played on violin!).
