Customer questions
What do your clients love most about your performances?
It’s always an advantage to only have to book one or two musicians to provide music for the day. This keeps costs down substantially and makes life a lot easier with communication.
I provide various sounds and vibes depending on what you want and need and can work closely with you to tailor the day exactly how you wish.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
Bridgewater Hall
Carnegie Hall
Earls Court
Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
Theatres across the UK and Europe
Jazz and 1940’s festivals in UK, Ireland and Europe
Various Texas dance halls and venues
Wedding venues up and down the UK, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
Nora Jones
Stevie Wonder
Ella Fitzgerald
Modern pop artistes
Hotclub of Cowtown
Nigel Kennedy
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
Glastonbury Festival.
Do you have different line-up options?
As a solo It would always be myself combining options of violin, piano, accordion and vocals.
I also offer a duo which adds on saxophone and clarinet and a trio with double bass. Also a five piece swing band.
In addition a string quartet, trio or duo.
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
Timings can be flexible as I understand things and plans can change.
As long as the day is booked in we can fine tune timings nearer the day if required.
How much time do you need to set up?
Set up takes 20 minutes if acoustic or 45 minutes if PA is needed.
Depending on requirements we can normally work around the venue and events of the day.
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
I would normally play a selection of requests and my own set. I try to gauge who is listening and tailor it to the vibe at the time.
Every function is different and it is often good to leave a little space to go with guest reaction.
Sometimes they want to sing along, sometimes just to chat and this changes throughout the day.
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
All equipment totally self contained.
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
I can learn pretty much any song/tune/genre/style.
