But what I now know I was truly lucky for, was that Jools was the violinist who was available. He was quick to respond and made us feel completely at ease. What kind of music can a violinist play?
Pretty much anything! Violinists will usually be most comfortable playing classical music, but that doesn't mean they won't be able whip up fresh renditions of your favourite pop, folk, or jazz tunes. Best to check first before asking them to play krautrock though.
