What kind of guitarist should I hire?
Choosing a guitarist will depend on the context of your event - guitarists usually specialise in a specific style, such as jazz, classical, Spanish, or pop/rock. A jazz or classical guitarist might be perfect for wedding reception background music, or a corporate event, whereas you might want a pop/rock guitarist for a birthday party, or a karoake sing-along.
Will I need to provide the guitarist with any equipment?
Guitarists will come fully prepared for your event - they will usually provide light amplification, a guitar stool (if they'll be performing sitting down), and a music stand. If you're in a larger venue, they may make use of the venue's PA system.
I want my guitarist to sing as well. Is this possible?
Yes! Many guitarists will sing and play guitar simultaneously - they can also do a mixture of accompanied and accompanied music to provide some variation to their performance! They'll most likely mention this information on their profile, as well as have links to videos showcasing their skills.
