Customer questions
What do your clients love most about your performances?
I know how to read a crowd well. I know when to play certain genres based on the demographic present on the dancefloor at the time and if a certain song is requested, I know how to keep that vibe going for as long as necessary to ensure banger after banger is played. I have a good selection of remixes of classics to keep people hooked!
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
I cut my teeth playing in bars and clubs around my home town of Bristol, venues include the Gallimaufry, the Jam Jar, the Canteen, the Golden Lion, Cosies and others. Since transitioning into wedding DJ'ing in 2021, I have been a long standing recommended supplier for Brympton House and have DJ'd many weddings there!
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
As a DJ I haven't got a specific artist I am influenced by, I draw inspiration from many different artists, DJ's and performers and like to keep an open mind when it coms to being present within the entertainment industry, to see how it evolves, what works and what doesn't. As a musician my favourite artist is Aaron Parks, if you like jazz, you will too...
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
I'm also a guitarist and have played in many bands across the years. My highlight would be performing at Pilton Party festival to a crowd of roughly 7,500 supporting Example, Miles Kane and Temples with my old band All Us Authors. We met the artists and became good friends with Michael Eavis of Glastonbury Festival!
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
I always endeavour to be flexible to make sure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change in the run up to the event just let me know, ideally up to a week before if possible.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Absolutely! If I'm booked for an evening party I will play continuously throughout the evening until the event is set to end so no need for playlists in between sets. If I'm booked for speaker/mic hire then a Spotify service comes as standard. The same applies to the ceremony add-on.
How much time do you need to set up?
I'd usually allow a minimum of 1.5 hours, this gives me time to make sure everything is set up to the best possible standard.
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
Yes! I have a huge repertoire of downloaded music. Requests are happily taken on the night but may not all be played. Professional discretion is used throughout to discern if requests are appropriate. It's best to get any songs you definitely want playing sent to me ahead of time to ensure I have it downloaded as I can't always rely on wifi at the venue.
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
Yes, absolutely! I bring all my own PA equipment, DJ equipment, custom design DJ booth and all lighting.
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
As a DJ, I can take any requests on the night providing I have it downloaded. Professional discretion is used throughout the night the discern appropriate requests. If there are any songs that you know you definitely want playing, e.g. the first dance, a family favourite or guest requests, it's best to get them set to me prior to the event!
