Sheila G & Friends

Sheila G & Friends is a versatile acoustic band which covers a range of different genres including pop, motown, soul and Bollywood. The band, consisting of Sheila G (singer), a pianist, guitarist and upon request, a tabla player, which brings a truly eastern and western sound merging… The group was founded in January 2018, following Sheila G's project with the United Nations, which included writing a song for the United Nations Refugee Agency. The song, entitled 'Home' was used to promote their campaign which was successful globally. This followed a charity event organised at the prestigious Madrake in London to raise funds for the global refugee crisis; After securing several key sponsors, Sheila G & Friends hosted and put on a cinematic show consisting of a number of covers and original songs - covers included classics like 'Man in the Mirror' (Michael Jackson), Stand by Me (Ben King) and also modern ballads and classics like 'All of Me' (John Legend). The band also included a Bollywood 'mashup' of both current and modern songs and the event was a huge success; in a review by UK’s longest running music magazine ‘Record Collector’, Andy Rawll stated: ‘Sheila’s delightfully eclectic set encompassed ‘Leonard Cohen’, John Legend and well-bred originals. These revealed the soul, power and clarity of her voice.' Sheila G Trio & Friends performed at a number of corporate events across the UK and most recently, the Diwali Ball in Gibraltar where the band entertained 400 guests with a number of well known Bollywood hits including 'Sheila ki Jawani!' Other venues include the London Hilton, where the group entertained 500 guests at the annual Charity Clarity Awards UK. The band have most recently recorded a number of acoustic medleys, including hits from the 80s, 90s, 2000s and a latin and Bollywood medley. Being multi-lingual, international and cultured, the group is able to adapt to a number of different genres to suit both an intimate crowd and larger audiences.
