Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Laetitia Pannetier is a third-year Bachelor of Music student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She studies violin performance under RSNO associative leader, William Chandler, and viola performance under Duncan Ferguson.  Thanks to her father’s career, Laetitia was lucky to travel and live in many foreign countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Egypt and France. She started the violin at the age of four, and continued her studies in Beijing under Professor Xi Li and Professor Yu Bing from the Central Conservatory of China for 7 years. During that time, she also studied under Russian German violinist Maria Nauen. While living in Cairo, she studied under Vladimir Shim. Being a third culture kid taught her diverse cultural and musical technique and styles. She was also a member of several orchestras while staying in those countries, such as the Beijing International Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre des Jeunes de l’Auditorium de Lyon, Cairo Maadi Community Orchestra. She has a passion for taking part in summer music courses, including the Ingenium Academy, Music Academy International, New York Summer Music Festival, giving her the opportunity to work with artists such as Steve Reineke, Joseph Silverstein, Ray and Amy Iwazumi.  One of Laetitia's most passionate projects is being part of Scotland's first and only Street orchestra, the Nevis Ensemble. She has a passion for bringing all kinds of music for everyone, everywhere. Laetitia also studies viola and voice at the RCS. Prior to moving to Glasgow, she has taken piano and guitar lessons. She is also a skilled competitive ice figure skater and has a passion for ballet, contemporary dance, photography, film editing, taking part in Model United Nations conferences and learning languages.
