Looking for a DJ who can read the room, keep the dancefloor moving and make your celebration feel effortless? I’m DJ Tony V, a versatile Bristol-based wedding and event DJ covering the South West and wider UK. I provide professional DJ entertainment for weddings, birthdays, corporate events, school proms and private parties. My sets are tailored to you and your guests rather than relying on a fixed playlist. I can move naturally between disco, funk, soul, Motown, pop, house, UK garage, R&B, hip-hop, Afrobeats, Amapiano, reggae, dancehall, indie, rock, drum and bass and party classics. I welcome advance requests, first-dance choices and a Do Not Play list, while using my experience to read the crowd and keep the music flowing. Every standard booking includes a professional DJ booth, high-quality PA system, wireless microphone and dancefloor lighting. I arrive around one hour before the performance to unload, set up and sound-check. I’m fully covered by £5 million public liability insurance, and my equipment is PAT tested. From your first enquiry to the final song, I aim to be friendly, reliable and easy to work with. I can help with key announcements, speeches, cake cutting, entrances and first-dance timing, and I’m happy to coordinate with your venue, planner or live band. Optional extras include uplighting, a digital Selfie Pod or DSLR open-air Photo Booth, PA hire and three-channel Silent Disco hire. Tony was great from the start! Good communication, checking about music preferences, venue etc. We sent a Spotify playlist and he picked the perfect songs and mixed them so well! One of the best DJs I’ve seen and lots of our wedding guests also said so! Cannot complain at all, great price, communication, set up, reading the crowd, mixing in song requests from people. Highly recommended for weddings or any other party!!!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients love that I read the room and adapt the music to their guests. I blend requests with proven dancefloor favourites, keep transitions smooth and create the right energy from the first song to the final track. They also value my friendly communication, reliability and professional setup.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I’ve performed at wedding venues, hotels, barns and event spaces across Bristol, the South West and wider UK, including Tunnels Beaches, Sandy Cove Hotel, Eastington Park, Cripps Barn and Techniquest in Cardiff. I also perform at private parties, school proms, corporate events and public sporting events.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My influences span many styles and eras rather than one particular artist. I draw inspiration from Motown, soul, disco, reggae, dancehall, R&B, hip-hop, house, UK garage, Afrobeats, Amapiano, pop, rock and drum and bass. That wide musical background helps me create versatile sets for mixed-age crowds.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

One of my most notable public events was DJing at the Great West Run in Exeter, creating an energetic atmosphere for runners and supporters. I’ve also performed at large corporate celebrations for around 200 guests and at weddings and private events throughout the UK.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try to be as flexible as possible. If your timings change after booking, let me know as soon as you can and I’ll adjust the start or finish time where possible. Significant changes, very early setup or additional performance hours may involve an extra charge, which I’ll confirm clearly in advance.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. I can provide suitable background music before the main DJ set and during breaks, helping the atmosphere flow throughout your event. If you have a band, speeches or other entertainment, I’m also happy to coordinate the music and changeovers with your venue or suppliers.

How much time do you need to set up?

I normally need around one hour to unload, set up and sound-check the DJ booth, professional PA system, wireless microphone and dancefloor lighting. More complex packages may need additional setup time. Earlier setup can usually be arranged in advance and may carry an additional fee.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely. You can send a Spotify or Apple Music playlist, must-play songs, your first-dance choice and a Do Not Play list. I’ll use these as a guide while reading the crowd and taking suitable requests, so the music feels personal while the dancefloor keeps flowing.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes. My standard DJ package includes a professional DJ booth, PA speakers, wireless microphone and dancefloor lighting. I bring the necessary cables and equipment, then set everything up and test it before the performance. Public liability insurance and current PAT documentation are also available.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes. I’m happy to source song requests in advance, including your first dance, entrance music and other important moments. Send your requests before the event and I’ll prepare them wherever possible. I can also work from a playlist that reflects your preferred genres and the atmosphere you want.
