The Pint Sized Big Band is a 6-piece jazz ensemble set up by graduates of Leeds College of music to create a classic big band experience within a smaller setting. The lineup consists of Piano, Bass, Drums, Sax, Trumpet and Trombone/Vocals. By utilizing specially arranged music, the band is able to perform the best big band and jazz hits from every era; from the Roaring 20s, to the Wartime music of the 40s, the Rat Pack 60s right through to some modern day classics. If you're looking for that classic big band sound with a 'pint sized' band of just six musicians, then the Pint Sized Big Band is for you.

Pint sized big band were the perfect way to start off a night (especially near Christmas). All amazing songs you couldn’t possibly just stand still, they’re all also lovely people and I would love to have them play at an event again!

Pint Sized Big Band, certainly believe their name. They produce a big sound, worthy of a much larger band and were impressively professional, especially given that this was their first live gig. We hope to see them here again.

Customer questions

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Our male vocalist will always be the same as seen in any promotional footage seen, however, we have a range of fantastic guest female vocalists so we can't guarantee that the same female singer you've seen in a video will be at your event.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our usual 6 piece line-up consists of: Trombone/Vocals, Trumpet, Sax, Piano, Bass and Drums. We also offer a 7 piece line-up with an extra vocalist.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know and we'll do our best to work around the changes.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely, we can offer a free DJ service an hour before and in between our sets. If you would like a DJ set after our final set, this can be organised at an additional cost.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free DJ service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance, while we finish setting up the rest of the band.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists have been crafted by us based on our experience from previous events and performances. If you have a specific theme for your event, we should have a set list to suit your needs or we can play a mix or eras and genres. We're happy to talk through our set list with you to make sure it works for your event,

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Most of our equipment is included in the quoted fee, however, there is a PA hire fee if we'd need a larger PA than we usually use a or sound crew. This can be the case fore certain venues.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we will always try to accomodate, however, as all of our songs have to be arranged for our specific band line-up this isn't always possible, especially if we aren't given plent of notice.
