With a repertoire packed with dance and house anthems, jazz and swing standards and classic sax ballads, m-SAX will have your guests lounging with a cocktail during the day and raving on the dance floor at night. This guy is a seriously experienced musician. He was a pioneer of saxophone over House music, having played at Café Mambo as the style grew in popularity in Ibiza. Since then m-SAX has performed with huge names, including Groove Armada, Alex P & Brandon Block, The Temptations, Candi Staton, Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Percy Sledge, Ben E King and Smokey Robinson. His pedigree has earned him the spot of saxophonist in “Judge Jules LIVE!” – a ground-breaking new project from the legendary DJ that puts a fresh spin on some of the biggest dance anthems in the last 30 years. Mark began has musical journey at age 11 and quickly rose through the ranks. He earned a scholarship to study his craft in the USA for 5 years at the prestigious Berklee College of Music - regarded as THE BEST music school on the planet! In that time he was also sponsored financially by Phil Collins after Mark sent him some demos. In addition to being the first ever saxophonist at Cafe Mambo in Ibiza, m-SAX has also performed at an incredible list of venues, including the Montreux Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scotts, The Jazz Cafe, the United Nations in NYC, the Royal Albert Hall, Windsor Castle and even at Buckingham Palace for the Queen - TWICE!! He has also recorded at Abbey Road Studios. All this experience ensures a slick and polished performance that will leave your guests wanting more. With a range of add-on options available, including a pro DJ package, a jazz/Live-Lounge daytime set and options to extend his performance time, m-SAX is the ultimate accompaniment to your entire event. An impressive BOSE L1 Pro8 PA system is included and lighting systems are available if required.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Judging from the amazing feedback I get I think it's that I raise the vibe at all my events, leaving guests impressed and surprised. I absolutely love playing the sax and adding something special to a track that doesn't yet exist and I think it shows. Clients also comment on how confident they are when booking me - I communicate very well which relaxes them.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

It's either performing alongside Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) or for the Queen on 2 occasions. I have also performed for Groove Armada, Shed 7, Judge Jules, Alex P, Brandon Block, The Temptations, Candi Staton, The Stylistics, Percy Sledge, Ben E King, Smokey Robinson, Peabo Bryson and Freda Payne. There's more than that but I have the memory of a goldfish....

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

NOT A PROBLEM! Just let me know asap and I will always be as flexible as I can. Most events rarely run perfectly on time in my experience so this is all just part of the job.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and I actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via my PA after the final set, then I can also provide this. Please ask for a quote as the additional costs depend on the finish time.

How much time do you need to set up?

Usually only 15 minutes is adequate but please allow for up to 45 minutes in some cases.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes of course but if there's anything not on there that you would like I will let you know if it's possible. Some styles/songs are not suitable to have additional saxophone over the top but I'll always try my best.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instrument and a radio mic to all bookings. If you don't have a DJ then I can also provide my own BOSE L1 Pro8 Line Array system which sounds (and looks) mint!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes but some styles/songs are not suitable to have additional saxophone over the top. If you let me know what it is I will let you know either was asap.

Mark was brilliant! His performances at my daughter's 21st gave the party that something extra and definitely made the night. All of the guests commented on how fantastic he was! Communication was excellent and he worked with us on the song choices ensuring the night was extra special. I'd book Mark again in a heartbeat. We had Mark preform at our Charity event on Friday and wow, what a performance he put on, I was absolutely blown away, as were all my guests! The compliments have not stopped, absolutely exceptional and I will most defiantly be finding a reason to use him again! And above all what a lovely lovely man, such a warm heart.
