The Smooth Criminals boast strong male & female vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass and drums with tight harmonies and a passion for what they do. Creating a powerful, exciting and entertaining performance. We are available as a 5 to 7-piece lineup to accommodate most budgets, including saxophone and trumpet options for that authentic soulful sound. Based in the Midlands but available nationwide. We’re based in Birmingham, West Midlands but we travel Nationwide and Internationally so don’t be afraid to ask! The Smooth Criminals performed at our wedding and were amazing! Communication prior to the day was great, everything was on time and well organised. They started by performing our first dance song and then did 2 x 1 hour sets for us. The dance floor was full and everyone was loving the music and the energy. We were begging for more when they had to finish. It was exactly what we wanted!! I would definitely recommend them Amy & Dave

My wife and I hired The Smooth Criminals for our wedding party last month and we simply could not have been happier that we found them! Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We always strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-audititioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard 5 piece line-up is as follows: Male & Female Lead Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards, Bass & Drums. We also have 6 and 7-piece options with Sax or Sax and Trumpet. Perfect for larger Weddings, Corporate Functions and large events: Male & Female Lead Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards, Bass & Drums with added Sax or Sax and trumpet & Trumpet.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible, we can accommodate most changes. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the we can discuss on the pre-event phone call or even on the night if required.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. Recorded music from playlists is provided as standard before, in-between and after performances until our finish time. You can upgrade to our manned DJ service for a small extra fee. This is a really popular option. We can also offer DJ services for extra hours after the band finish time.

How much time do you need to set up?

Our usual set up time is 1.5 hours as we bring a lot of equipment, mic up each instrument and perform a thorough sound check. For smaller events with electric drums we can often set up in within 1 hour. If required, we can provide options to arrive earlier in the day to set up.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We’re always happy to take our clients' song choices into consideration. Our set lists are tried and tested to keep guests on the dance floor. We can integrate your selection of songs into our set list whilst using our experience to keep the dance floor full.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system are included in your quote. We will require approximately 10 x 15 ft of floor space as well as at least 2x twin mains power sockets.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, we can usually learn and perform your 1st dance free of charge as long as we’ve got enough notice (1 month) and the song is suitable for the band. We can learn other songs for a small fee or for free if we consider the song a good addition to our repertoire (time permitting).
