We're 8 Lovers of Ska and good fun music with decades of experience between us. We do this because we love playing music people enjoy and can dance to. While we play a high energy set that gets the crowd moving we also have the technical know-how and professionalism to make sure the event goes of without a hitch. When you book us we'll make time to discuss your event and make sure we provide the ultimate service. Our usual show includes 2x1 hour sets with a break between. We have our own PA, Lights, everything you need for a good party.

Tom and the guys turned up early and were setup before our guests arrived, they even lent us some of their power cables to overcome issues with the venue. Their first set started with some slower laid back tunes but by the end of the set they had filled the dance floor. The second set was all bangers, the band interacted with the crowd by jumping off the stage and getting people to sing along. I couldn’t recommend them more and will be booking them for our next event.

I wouldn’t hesitate to book the Jumpstarts again. They bailed me out of a huge crisis when our booked band had to cancel last minute due to covid. We weren’t sure what to expect from a ska band but everyone loved the music and really enjoyed the night.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We usually play as an 8 piece but due to issues scheduling 8 people we sometimes play with 6 or 7 people, we’d discuss this with you before you finalise your booking.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We can discuss any changes to requirements, life happens and we’ll do our best to work around your needs.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. Obviously this could extend our time on site though but as soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service of our music or you can supply your own to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

How much time do you need to set up?

We need approximately an hour and a half to setup, this includes unloading, equipment setup and sound check so doesn’t necessarily need to be a single block of time.

Can you roam around while you perform?

We're not mobile but don't be surprised if our singer or horn section join you on the dance floor.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and stage lighting system is included in the quote. There are 8 of us so it's good to discuss the space requirements before booking.
