About Steve

Steve is a solo guitarist with a large and varied repertoire, suitable for weddings, parties, conferences, corporate events and exhibitions.

Steve is a solo guitarist with a large and varied repertoire, working at weddings, parties, conferences, corporate events, dinners, exhibitions etc in the Thames Valley and South of England. Styles include classical, jazz era, ballads and contemporary pop/rock, popular melodies that you will recognise and enjoy, that capture the mood of the event, providing a relaxed and sensitive performance. Often bespoke and always tailored to the event, special requests not already in his repertoire can always be considered. A wedding day could begin with Steve playing classical and romantic/soundtrack pieces as guests arrive, and during the register signing - with a special tune for the bride’s entrance. Then, during the reception and wedding breakfast, a selection of more modern and upbeat tunes. There's a representative sample of Steve's 100+ tunes in the repertoire section. Steve uses acoustic and electric guitars for a variety of tones, discretely amplified according to the demands of the occasion and venue. Sound system and lights are also used when required. An accomplished guitarist and performer in many styles, with more than 30 years experience of entertaining as a soloist and band player. Now based in the Thames Valley, Steve has worked throughout the UK as well as engagements in Germany, Denmark and Greece, in hotels, bars, concert venues, town halls, places of worship, museums, galleries and private homes.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can play music from iPod playlists (or provide your own). No charge!

How much time do you need to set up?

45 minutes is usually plenty of time set up. I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere before my own live performance.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I'm definitely happy to chat through my repertoire and make sure we pick what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes - instruments and PA, no problem!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in my list there's a chance I may already know it. I will also learn a special tune for you, if appropriate. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account practice time etc.

Thanks for playing at our wedding. The music was great and really added the finishing touch to our day. We've had loads of positive comments! You are an extremely talented musician and a professional and kind person who goes the extra mile, which in turn made our wedding day that extra bit special.
