I'm a Birmingham born and bred singer-songwriter and have just finished a degree in Songwriting. My passion for music is ever-growing and this is displayed immensely through my performing. Although my expertise lies within songwriting, I love to jam cover songs and add my own style to them. I play electric and acoustic guitar which add their own different vibe to my performances but one thing that remains soulful, sophisticated and consistent is my voice. I've always loved to sing but as I've grown older and been through different things in life, my voice has carried my experiences and has almost grown with me. Since around the age of 15, I took part in open mic nights and music competitions and then from around 17, I started gigging in renowned venues in Birmingham. Places like The Sunflower Lounge, Castle and Falcon, Deadwax, The Night Owl and my most recent adventure was performing at my debut headline show at The Dark Horse in lovely Moseley. I sold out the venue (although with pandemic capacity, haha!) and truly had a beautiful evening. All my supporters came and there was such an amazing energy in the room when the band and I first started playing our set. Although I've loved all the gigs I've played and am incredibly grateful for the support from my fans, it's not always been the most financially viable aspect of my love for performing. It's been my dream to have somewhat of an income from performing, writing and creating, and now that I've finished studying I finally feel like I have the opportunity to do this. I believe that I'm experienced and qualified (I graduated with a first!) enough to invest my energy into creating a stable career in music for myself. In 2018, I won the Birmingham Music Award for Best Pop Act, a humbling and exciting milestone in my life. My trophy that sits quietly in my bedroom at home reminds me of my journey and how far I've come. I’m finally at a point in my life where I can commit to creating and entertaining without the boundaries that education can sometimes bring. I cannot wait to get into the world of performing and hopefully make a living from it too!
