About Stella

Soulful, stylish, and full of character — bringing original music and reimagined covers to life at your event.
Singer
Halesowen

I’m a Birmingham-born singer-songwriter whose love for music continues to grow and shine through every performance. While songwriting is my greatest strength, I also love reimagining cover songs with my own unique style. Switching between electric and acoustic guitar gives each show its own flavour, but the one constant that always carries my music is my voice—soulful, sophisticated, and deeply shaped by my experiences. Singing has been a lifelong passion of mine, but as I’ve grown, my voice has grown with me—carrying the weight of my journey and the stories I want to tell. I started performing at open mic nights and entering competitions at 15, before moving on to regular gigs at 17. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of playing some of Birmingham’s most renowned venues, including The Sunflower Lounge, Castle and Falcon, Deadwax, The Night Owl, The Dark Horse in Moseley, and many more. Selling out The Dark Horse (even under pandemic restrictions!) was a milestone I’ll never forget. The energy in the room when my band and I began playing was electric, and sharing that night with so many supporters was truly unforgettable. A highlight of my journey so far was winning the Birmingham Music Award for Best Pop Act in 2018—a moment that reminded me how far I’ve come and how much further I want to go. That trophy on my shelf is more than an award; it’s a symbol of the dedication, passion, and joy that drive me. Now, with no boundaries holding me back, I’m ready to step fully into the world of music—committed to creating, performing, and making a living doing what I love most.

We booked Stella to sing at my husband’s 40th birthday celebrations, and she was absolutely fantastic. Her music created the perfect atmosphere — chilled, pure, and effortlessly enjoyable. She performed beautiful acoustic covers of some of our favourite songs by artists like Oasis, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, and UB40, and every single one was spot on. Beyond her incredible voice, she was so friendly and easy to work with. She fitted in seamlessly around the flow of the party and even got everyone together to sing “Happy Birthday,” which made the moment extra special. We couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add something truly memorable to their event!

Stella is a force of nature, a musical raconteur with heart and grit. Stella has has performed at Grosvenor Road Studios twice now, where she also recorded her single "Move My Feet". She has been asked to come back again to collaborate with the other musicians for GRS Live. Stella is truly unforgettable and an exceptional talent. I would highly recommend her.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I bring a unique sound and a soulful voice, but what people connect with most is my energy and charisma on stage. I love putting my own spin on songs, giving them a new vibe that always leaves a lasting impression.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I’ve had the chance to play at some of Birmingham’s best venues, like the O2 Institute, The Sunflower Lounge, The Flapper, The Actress and Bishop, Castle and Falcon, The Night Owl, and Deadwax.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I draw inspiration from artists like Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Bob Marley, Jorja Smith, and Lola Young. It’s quite a mix, but that blend is what gives me my unique, hybrid sound.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I’ve played my own headline show — which sold out! — and have been main support for Kioko, (who have toured with UB40). I’ve also supported Lady Sanity and Husky Loops, and even opened for Flash!, the UK’s top Queen tribute band.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I'm generally flexible, though I’d prefer some advance notice if changes come up. Good communication really helps.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can do that. It would run through the same system (Roland Cube amp) that I use for my guitar and vocals. It’s quite a loud and powerful sound, but if there’s the option to run it through the venue’s system, that could work as well.

How much time do you need to set up?

15 minutes

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Happy to have a call before the event so we can discuss the set and your preferences.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yep! I’ll bring my guitar, mic, stand, Roland Cube amp, and all the cables I’ll need.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I’m open to that! We can talk it through on a phone or video call — I’d just need a bit of notice so I have time to learn the pieces.
