Lady Spadey & The Noisy Boys

Sara Spade's mix of vintage swing & her own originals (as heard on Radio 2) plus a great eclectic mix of acoustic covers (e.g.Madness "It must be love", George Michael "Faith", Depeche Mode "I just can't get enough", Lord Invader "Rum & coca cola") appeals to all ages, videos for all of which can be found online. The repertoire also includes plenty of charlestons & jazz favourites (e.g."Dream a little dream of me", "Blue Moon", "At Last, My Love Has Come Along"). The band has been heard on BBC Radio 2 & seen at festivals including Bestival, Camp Bestival (the family-friendly version!), Wilderness, Isle of Wight & headline slot at The Ukulele Festival of Great Britain, as well as countless beer & food festivals & the odd jazz festival (e.g.Marlborough). Sara Spade is a singer-songwriter & ukulele & guitar player, with high class style, an engaging personality and a wonderful voice (see the quotes above from Jools Holland, Jamie Cullum & Hank Marvin!) Three sizes available, all of which appear with just a snare drum & percussion (not a full drum kit!): -- 6-piece swing band (including brass section) ...perfect for weddings & high energy parties -- Quartet (Sara on uke + guitar, snare drum & double bass) ...ideal for chilled out cocktails & a bit of dancing -- Trio (Sara on uke + snare & double bass...who both sing too) ...for high energy shows only (not suitable for background). The band is truly tiny in terms of stage area (the quartet needs only 10 ft x 8 ft; the trio less, the swing band 12 x 8) and uses a very discreet, smart PA-system & can bring lights on request.
