Rachel, hailing from Lytham St.Annes, Lancashire, is a Mezzo Soprano, based in the north of England, who studied at Leeds College of Music under the tutelage of Carolyn Hargreaves.
Rachel is a member of the reputable Leeds Youth Opera, where she is currently in rehearsals for Giuseppe Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera, playing "Ulrica". Previous roles with LYO include credits such as "Anita" in Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story.
During her time at music conservatoire, Rachel sang roles such as "The Sorceress" in Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, "Baba" in Gian Carlo Menotti's The Medium and "Misstress of Novices" in Giacomo Puccini's Suor Angelica, which also featured soloists from Opera North.
Other Opera credits are with the celebrated Dorset Opera in productions such as L'eliser d'amore and Un Ballo in Maschera.
She has also performed in many concerts and recitals at venues such as Leeds Town Hall, Blackburn Cathedral and Wakefield Cathedral.
Rachel is also always keen to push vocal boundaries with new music and recently performed at the celebrated "Leeds Lieder Festival" in the Poet and Composer Showcase as a soloist.
Rachel has also been fortunate enough to sing in masterclasses with Alison Pearce and Deborah York.
Alongside performing, Rachel teaches voice in the Leeds area to students of all ages and ability.
She believes that there is nothing more rewarding than empowering an individual who has the desire to sing, with encouragement, belief and knowledge of a solid technique.
