John Moakes has over 30 years experience as a function, cruise ship and wedding singer performing all the great swing classics, in addition to being a professional trumpet player. He has worked extensively around the world fronting numerous big bands including the Memphis Belle Swing Orchestra, the New Squadronaires and the Glenn Miller Tribute Orchestra, in addition to sharing a stage with the fantastic Mr Buddy Greco. John regularly travels all over the UK and worldwide performing both his self-contained solo show and with his quartet. Whatever your requirements, John’s show can be tailored to fit, making it the perfect entertainment for weddings, birthdays, parties and corporate events. John’s vast repertoire includes songs made famous by the Rat Pack, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr, Matt Monro and more. John Moakes performed at my party on Monday 18th March at the Quadrant. He was totally brilliant. ..so yes five gold stars for every question. .. Rebooked already!!

John played at my wedding just over a month ago and was brilliant. Everyone said how great it was. There was no fuss, he just set up and sounded wonderful. Exactly what I was hoping for. I would recommend him to anyone. John Moakes even stayed longer and helped with my iPod music after. Great guy and couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks again, you're the best! xx

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problems. I will go with any changes you make to make the day as smooth as possible fo you .

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. Any music of your choice can be played through my equipment all throughout the event.

How much time do you need to set up?

Can be set up in 30 minutes with no fuss.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

You can request any song and if possible we will play it for you .

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes everything.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

So many songs out there but given some time we will learn and perform it for you.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Were a fully professional line up . From myself with swinging tracks or my full line up of keys bass and drums.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Warner hotels all through the year. Private venues.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Frank Sinatra and other big band swing singers.
