Jess is a lovely lady and was very professional and created a wonderful atmosphere for us at the wedding. All the guests thoroughly enjoyed her singing and commented that it was the best wedding that they had ever been to! Mainly thanks to Jess for creating that for us. Would highly recommend this singer for any occasion.

I booked Jessica Stevens for my retirement do in Friday 8th July and she is one very special lady. Her singing was faultless and absolutely outstanding. How she managed to tailor her performance in making it personal to everyone I do not know! A class act and I am grateful that I saw her on Encore Bookings, I am truly blessed to have had Jess perform.

Show and Disco

2 45 minute vocal sets and two hours disco, pop hits and general crowd pleasers to suit the event. Timings to be arranged at your convenience. DJ booth and lighting included.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I will always do my best to be flexible where possible, so if timings change in the run-up to the event please just let me know as soon as you can. If you need me to stay on longer, I charge £50 per half hour but can provide up to two extra 45 minute sets to suit.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. In fact, backing music between sets is included in the price of your package. I also offer an additional disco package with DJ booth and lighting - please see the add-on section of my encore profile.

How much time do you need to set up?

For a standard show, I will need 15-20 minutes to set up my PA system. To allow for warming up and dressing, I usually aim to arrive 45 minutes - 1 hour before start time unless otherwise discussed. For the disco add-on, I will need an extra half hour. Once the system is set up, I can play backing music to set the tone for the evening.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My set list is not set in stone, and I use my wealth of experience to decide what will best suit the audience. However, I am happy to talk through your requests to find out what works best to make your event a success.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I bring a full PA system for standard shows, and DJ booth and lighting for the disco add-on.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't already in my set list, there's still a chance I already have it or at least know it. If not, I am happy to learn a song if possible, and if I can find a suitable backing track, at a price of £10 per song to allow for rehearsal and download costs. If I can't do that, I should be able to play the original for you at no extra cost.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

People always say that they love my energy. I love to perform, it's my full-time occupation, and I always give 100% when on stage. If I'm singing a ballad, I might get lost in the emotion of the moment and pour my heart out through my song. When I'm singing a powerful, up-tempo number I might get dance so enthusiastically that I almost topple over!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've performed at hundreds of venues in my ten plus years of singing professionally, both as a solo artist and with several function bands. I love the energy of singing with a band, and interacting with the musicians to create great new things, but I also love my solo performances as it gives me a chance to give a really unique and exciting set.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My first musical influences of course came from my parents, so I'm a huge Sam Cooke fan and I love all the old classic Motown tracks that my mum used to play. I am a huge Mariah Carey fan and she is the reason I started singing, but I also have a soft spot for the classic divas like Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I sang alongside my father Keni Stevens at CampSoul Festival a few years ago, where we performed a few tracks from his latest album 'Out of The Blue' on which we had worked together on several songs. I loved singing original material, it was a really great feeling to sing to my dad's fans and I can't wait to start performing my own original material soon!
