Jeff Hooper Bullet Bio • 1974. Won ITV’s New Faces aged fourteen, singing a Perry Como song. • Appearance on The Golden Shot. • Interviewed on national TV by Sally James, alongside David Cassidy. • Joined Steve Hare and the Bunnies Showband • Joined pop/rock band “Penthouse” • Became Compere/Singer at The Double Diamond nightclub. • Worked with Tommy Cooper, Bob Monkhouse, The Three Degrees, The Drifters, Tony Christie etc.…… • Preformed at The Sands Hotel Las Vegas • Joined the Syd Lawrence Orchestra as lead vocalist and remained for 10 years. • Toured nationally and internationally appearing at all major theatres and concert halls. • Regular broadcasts for BBC Radio 2 from Manchester and London. • Worked with Ernie Wise at Royal Festival Hall. • Wrote and presented LIVE “Bandwagon” (a specialist jazz and big band programme) for BBC Radio Wales. (10 years) • Represented Great Britain and the BBC in the International Festival of Song on three occasions. • Toured UK and Middle East with Matt Monro • Toured with Frankie Vaughn • Toured with Mel Tormé • Toured with Vince Hill • Live regular appearances on “Pebble Mill at One” • Wrote and presented “Primetime Diary” for HTV. • Big Band special with Spike Milligan as guest presenter. • Managed by Derek Bowman, (David Essex’s manager) • Runner up, in International “Starsearch USA Hollywood. • Presented Roy Noble, Owen Money, Mal Pope shows on Radio Wales. • “Friday Night is Music Night” show live on Radio 2 • Formed a Big Band show ‘A Swing Affair” paying tribute to the great singers. • Live “Big Band Special” Radio 2 from Gleneagles Hotel. • Six-week series for Radio 2 “A Swing Affair” which I wrote and presented. • Requested to sing at St David’s Hall for a Remembrance Concert in which the late Diana Princess of Wales attended. • Sang for Diana Princess of Wales at a private charity lunch. • Entertained dignitaries at the Opening of National Assembly of Wales. • My Big Band chosen for TV broadcast with Prince Charles and Camilla as VIP’s, singing alongside Katherine Jenkins and Aled Jones. • Celtic Manor resort show with Chris De burgh and Charlotte Church. • Appeared with the Woody Herman Band visiting from America. • Interviewed Tony Bennett in his Suite at the Dorchester Hotel. • Interviewed Jack Jones at St David’s Hall for BBC. • Received phone call from Hal David of prolific songwriters Bacharach and David. • Recorded 42 new songs written by Hal David and John Cacavas. • “Bluebird” used in a TV commercial for Skoda cars. • “Winter Warm” used in a Jeep TV commercial in USA and Europe. • “Time and Time Again” used in a VW car commercial in Italy. • “The Very Thought of You” recorded and sang on BBC Eastenders programme. • Regular appearances at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club London. • Voice over recordings which includes impressions. • Society and celebrity weddings and events nationally and internationally. ie Gloria Hunniford. • Invitations from Jazz Festivals. • Performed “Puttin’ on the Ritz” for a McDonalds TV commercial. • Performed with my Band at the 02 Arena for the Monty Python and Robbie Williams concerts. • Entertained on Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria and invited to sing on the final voyage of the QE2. • Appeared on “London Salutes Sinatra” with Michael Ball at Hammersmith Apollo, followed by a LIVE ‘special’ for BBC Radio Wales. • Tour of Mexico performing in televised filled stadia with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. • Formed “Swinging with the Stars” featuring the Top of the Tops Orchestra, performing hits from the Singing Super – Stars. • Formed Tony Bennett show to celebrate his 90th birthday. • ITV Wales “My Way’ Documentary on my life • 40 year career talks and presentations “An evening with” • My company is “Colla Voce Ltd” whereby I provide live music and shows from trios to Big Bands, for any event.
