Violinist
Manchester

Born in Sheffield, Elizabeth is a Violinist currently studying with Catherine Yates in the Royal Northern College of Music. Career highlights to date include performing Beethoven's Romance in F major in St. Andrew's Church with the Sheffield Chamber Orchestra, as well as the 1st movement of Vivaldi's Spring from the Four Seasons  with the Sheffield Youth Orchestra in the Octagon at age 13. Elizabeth has performed at a variety of different venues, ranging from Bridgewater Hall with the Hallé Youth Orchestra, to performing in Italy with the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra. Alongside performing in a variety of locations, Elizabeth has delved into many different genres of music. She has recently performed a new piece composed by Emily Pedersen (a published Faber Music composer) named 'Lizzie Squared', as well as participating in RNCM's New Music Concert (in which she led the 2nd Violins section) playing an even wider range of contemporary music. This, as well as her more classical upbringing, means she is well versed in many different genres of classical music. Elizabeths interested in music started with her dad, Ralph Dawson, who is a professional freelance violinist. He first started giving violin lessons to Elizabeth when she was age 7, and she quickly progressed to achieve her grade 8 at age 12. At age 13 she also attended lessons with Richard Howarth, who led Manchester Camerata and Ulster Orchestra. As well as this, her love for music then truly started blossoming when she started attending Junior RNCM at age 14, starting her studies there with Deirdre Ward.   Elizabeth has also taken an interest in chamber music, as being a violinist in The Hathersage Quartet and the violist in The Maplewood Quartet has given her a new range of repertoire in this area.
