Who is DJ Ruffcut? Very few DJs can honestly call themselves ‘true mix masters’ nowadays. DJ Ruffcut, however, can. With more than 29 years of DJ experience he is what you would call ‘a man with skills’. Ruffcut is a multi-genre DJ, specialising in R&B, HipHop, Afrobeats, Dancehall & Reggae. DJ Ruffcut is a vinyl specialist and collector of RnB, Hip-Hop from the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. His preferred tools of the trade are Technics 1200’s/1210’s and a Pioneer DJM 909 Mixer. Ruffcut can also use CDJs and controllers with serato software. He has won the respect over the years from fellow DJs for his ability to play great sets completely controlling the mood of the occasion at all times. Ruffcut says “I can make you go nuts on the dancefloor, or go to bar to get a drink, or make you talk to that girl or guy without saying a word. The only thing I can’t do is make you leave the party. I have to tell the revellers the party is over. I always aim please, mixing, cutting and scratching with ease.” At the age of 18, after years of bedroom DJing, the youngster (then called DJ Fingerz) stepped on to the London party scene. He landed his first club residency two years later and climbed the ranks playing at top London venues, including Emporium, SW1, Central Park Kensington and Bar Circa. One of his longest resident spots was at No. 10 which he held for four years. His nightclub gigs led to winning regular DJ spots at official after parties for Notting Hill Carnival. One of his biggest, to date, was at Hanover Grand in 1996 playing to more than 2,000 club revellers. DJing in London and in cities like Brighton and Nottingham speared an interest in club promotion. This eventually gave birth to Mastaplan – an outfit he set up in 2001specialising in DJing, music production and club night promotions. Mastaplan has gone on to promote successful club nights such as The Vibe in London (2001) and worked with Blak Marvel responsible for Da Marvel Lounge which showcased up and coming artists at the time such as Estelle, JJC & D’banj. Vinyl or MP3; club or party; it doesn’t matter. Ruffcut is the DJ you need.

DJ Ruffcut was amazingggg he played at my son’s first birthday party and everyone loved the music. He played old school songs for the older folks and current songs for the younger ones which was really nice.
