DJ Rikky Rock Biography Rikky started as a deep house DJ in the early 1990s playing in small bars and clubs. By the late 90s he had evolved into one of the first Tech House DJs, fusing Breaks with Electro House. Him and his team were pulling in crowds of over 1000 every Saturday at the notorious club night “The Laundry”. He became a regular at many underground tech house and breaks clubs around London including Bedrock/ Fabric /Egg/Chew the Fat/333/Mass/The Bug Bar/The Elbow Room/The Met Bar and with the Rise Crew hosted the opening parties of Corsica Studios. Along with this he was refining Lounge sounds and travelled to Europe to mix with some of the top Chill Out and Chilled Beats producers of the time, bringing with him the sound of West London Broken Beat. Back in North London Rikky was offered a Saturday Night Residency at the 1100 capacity Electric Ballroom in Camden a venue where Prince, Ed Sheeran and The Killers have performed. Here he pioneered the style of “Open Format DJing” His party sound rapidly grew into a beat mixed repertoire of House, Hip Hop, Party RnB, Chart with 70s, 80s, the ever popular 90s Reggaeton and current Pop hits. He was the resident there for 13 years. Rikky then attracted offers to play at a host of private parties and Awards Ceremonies. These included The London Lifestyle Awards, The Brit Awards After Party and extremely formal affairs such as the The Bank of England Christmas Party and The Champions League Final at Wembley in 2013. Couples getting married also clamoured for Rikky to be their DJ and soon Weddings were filling the diary and with that Rikky’s mic work improved to a high level and he can compère now too. In Soho between 2013 and 2014 Rikky curated the music for the award winning Mash Restaurant and arranged the DJs and co-curated the sound for the highly acclaimed Archer Street. Nowadays Rikky performs at around fifteen exclusive weddings a year. Lush cosmetics are a corporate client as are Fulham Football Club and Ikea. Now living in Zurich, Switzerland Rikky is working on his latest sound of Moombahpop which morphs all sounds from the 80’s and 90s in with Rnb and Reggaeton with a faultlessly flowing snappy beat.
