Formed by Owen Spafford and Kerran Cotterell in 2020, this duo primarily play folk music from across Britain and Ireland. Despite this, at a moments notice Owen and Kerran can perform a huge variety of music ranging from swinging Gypsy Jazz, to good ol' American Bluegrass, even creative covers of classic party anthems bound to blow your audience away! We've played for a variety of different events, from barndance ceilidhs on remote Norwegian islands to glamorous cruise ship weddings in the Mediterranean. With a wealth of performance experience and vast repertoires, Owen and Kerran are just as happy playing and calling ceilidh dances that are bound to get your friends on their feet, as they are providing a sophisticated yet groovy ambiance to your soirée. We are confident that we can work with you to provide whatever your event requires, tailored to your budget!

We were delighted with Coppermill Folk who played to a gathering of about 40 people for a 21st birthday celebration. Two very talented musicians, able to accommodate different needs from our guests. Helpful and thoughtful directions for the Ceilidh dancing from Kerran, everyone had a fabulous evening. We are so grateful that they helped make our evening very special.

Owen and Kerran were absolutely amazing at our wedding reception! They kept it lively and all our guests loved the music and had a dance. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a good irish band! Tha ms again both!

It was our first time on a Cunard cruise ship and we had the most delightful time listening to Owen and Kerran play our favourite songs from England and Ireland. They even got me and my wife dancing!

Owen and Kerran provided a stellar performance at our wedding ceilidh in North Yorkshire, we had the whole party dancing!

Customer questions

Can you perform covers?

Yes, no problem! We have a wide range of covers from many different genres we're happy to perform in addition to the traditional folk music. If this is something you'd like, it would be great to chat in advance to talk about what sort of covers you might like!

Do you have different line-up options?

If more players are desired we have a variety of musicians on many different instruments (Accordion, Cello, Banjo, Pipes etc.) who can bring different sounds and dynamics to the performance! If you desire any of this our policy is the more the merrier, but don't underestimate the sound and energy that this fiddle and guitar duo can create!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

If timings on the day change this shouldn't be too much of an issue as we always allow plenty of extra time around events to ensure things run smoothly!

Do you provide a caller?

Kerran the guitar player is experienced at calling and playing simultaneously! We find this is a great way to keep your expenses down!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We can absolutely take requests at no extra cost! This should be done in advance though as we will have to learn the desired songs.
