We are The Brass Rats. Edinburgh’s number one party and oompah band. Consisting of five brass players and a drummer, we put brassy twists on all your favourite songs. With a huge song choice and lots of experience performing for all kinds of events, we aim to keep guests singing, dancing and entertained from first song to last. From Oktoberfests to birthdays and weddings to corporate/private gigs we’ve done it all. We can arrange a song that you’d love to hear for your special occasion, if it’s not already on our list. The Brass Rats were amazing! Super professional and polished which allowed the event to run smoothly. They had the guests dancing & kept everyone entertained. Their energy was fantastic and really added to the overall atmosphere of the event. Highly recommend!

The Brass Rats were incredible, the weather did not allow for the outdoor setting as planned but they adapted and the result was amazing, all the guests loved the music and they played so many classics. 100% recommend

We absolutely loved having the Brass Rats play at our wedding! We booked them to play our drinks reception and they brought such amazing energy to it with their brilliant arrangements. Our guests loved the varied set list - there was something for everyone! From the start of booking, and all the way through, David was so responsive and even gave us their repertoire to look through in advance and pick some favourites. We can’t recommend the Brass Rats highly enough - they were one of our favourite parts of the day!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We aim to provide a performance and set list that is full of energy and enthusiasm. We provide a wide range of songs.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We played a wedding at the Balmoral hotel and Samual L Jackson briefly came in for a dance.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We don't usually have a singer in our line-up, but if its something that you would like, then we are more than happy to arrange one to perform along with us!

Do you have different line-up options?

We have a band that is up to 6 musicians plus a singer upon request.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer a DJ service while the band have a short break between sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

We would usually need about 15-20 minutes setup time before a performance. This is usually for the Kit to be setup.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

With your booking we will provide, a speaker system for music (unless venue has one built in) and a set of Rode Wireless Pro Microphones which can be used for recording the audio for your wedding and amplifying speeches. All Equipment for the band is provided as part of the booking. We usually require a setup time of 20 minutes before the event.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes! We are more than happy to accommodate new song requests and are happy to learn a special song request for your event!
