Barrel House Vipers will take you back to the 20's with their own take on the classic songs of the era. The band have rich vocal harmonies, original arrangements and are comprised of some of the best players on the UK jazz and swing scene. The band are perfect for your wedding, function, barn dance, glamorous party or stage. We play a range of music, but specialise in 1920's/30's Jazz, providing that unique and popular vintage sound, designed to add style and sophistication to any occasion. We adapt our set to provide clients with exactly the music and atmosphere they need. The Barrel House Vipers are versatile and can offer: A duo/trio/quartet up to an eight piece band depending on your needs with access to a wide range of instrumentalists. Sound equipment Acoustic or semi-acoustic performances with our small amplifiers inclusive of price PA available on request. The band regularly perform playing with some of the best instrumentalists. We are also are available to hire as a larger outfit with drums, trumpet, clarinet, violin, accordion, trombone or any other diverse instrumentation. The repertoire can extend to a New Orleans Dixieland Jazz sound with full horn section or a party, big band sound with drums to get everyone on the dance floor. Should you wish to hire a larger band, please state in your enquiry and we will endeavour to provide a bespoke outfit for exactly what you need. We have toured internationally, played UK and European festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown, Shambala and Ferrara buskers festival (IT) and have played all manner of venues from Christmas and New Years parties, pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants to high profile events and corporate functions. With a wealth of experience, we are able to ensure your event runs smoothly and provide the perfect music for any situation. Foot stomping, bum wiggling, jazzy goodness! Love this band, great energy, amazing musicians! They created an atmosphere of fun and frolics that made for an excellent night of dancing and good times, can't recommend them strongly enough, felt like travelling back to the roaring 20's!

I booked the Lazy River Band for a little do I put on earlier this year, they were very professional to deal with, covering all bases. On the day they were punctual, smart and the music was absolutely perfect to create a classy atmosphere at my party. Would 100% recommend them to others. (10 / 10)

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients love our beautiful arrangements, lively atmosphere, versatility and professionalism.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Glastonbury festival, Shambala festival, Boomtown, Secret Garden Party, Greenman, festivals in europe and the UK. We play regularly in the southwest and london and regularly play functions.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Louis armstrong, billie holliday, ella fitzgerald.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We supported Jools Holland for a private function.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes - we always strive to give you the band you see in the videos. On occasion we have to dep musicians but we have a strong network of amazing players to work with if that ever does need to happen! If our singer was ill and unable to perform, we would always discuss this with you and ask what you would like to do.

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes we have lots of options! We have from a duo (guitar and vocals/double bass) Trio - guitar/clarinet, double bass, vocals/accordion. all the way up to an eight or a nine piece band with the options of: violin, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, drums, piano, tuba and many more options! If you have something in mind, please let us know!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Please keep us in the loop with as much notice as possible. Whilst we try to be flexible, we do need to know about changes in case it is not possible for us to accommodate them for any reason.

How much time do you need to set up?

busking set up - 30 mins max pa - 1 hour max - we are able to put a playlist on once the pa set up is complete to create a good atmosphere!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our busking set up is included free of charge. Our pa is offered as an add on in our pricing section.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £50 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc
