Music’s always been a huge part of my life. I picked up the guitar when I was younger and pretty quickly became obsessed with it - especially blues and guitar-led music. Artists like John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and BB King were a big influence early on, and that style still shapes the way I play and sing today. Over the last 20 years, I’ve been lucky enough to perform all over the world, playing hundreds of weddings, events and private parties. Those experiences have taught me a lot - not just about music, but about people. Every event is different, and being able to read a room and adjust what I’m doing on the fly is just as important as playing the actual songs. I perform as a solo acoustic guitarist and singer, covering a wide range of music from 50s classics right through to modern hits. My setlist moves across pop, soul, rock, country and blues, so I can fit into pretty much any part of the day - whether that’s keeping things relaxed during a drinks reception or lifting the energy later on when people are ready to properly get involved. For me, it’s not just about standing there and playing songs. I like to make it feel natural and enjoyable for everyone in the room. That might mean a bit of light humour, getting people singing along, or just creating a good atmosphere where guests feel comfortable and engaged. I think that balance - between solid musicianship and actually entertaining people - is what makes a performance memorable. Weddings especially are something I’ve done a lot of, so I understand how important it is that everything runs smoothly. I’m easy to work with, reliable, and used to coordinating with venues and planners to make sure the music fits around the day, not the other way round. I’ve built up a lot of 5-star reviews over the years, which I think comes down to both the performance and the overall experience of working together. At the end of the day, I just really enjoy what I do. There’s something special about being part of people’s big moments and helping create the atmosphere for it. Whether it’s a couple’s first dance, a packed dancefloor, or just that perfect background vibe, I take a lot of pride in getting it right. If you’re after someone who’ll turn up, play properly, read the room and make it all feel easy—you’re in the right place.

We hired GoldBeat for a summer party in 2018. As soon as we enquired, we knew that they were the right band for us. Richard took great care in making sure every detail was covered and that all our questions were answered leading up to the day. On the day, they arrived on time and set up promptly, having everything ready before our guests arrived. Their performance was amazing - from the first song they had everyone on the dance floor until their last! All of our friends/family commented on how much fun they made their night - one even booked them for their wedding the following year on the spot! A really nice bunch of guys and top professionals. If you need a band for your party, look no further!
