About Libby & Raddon

We're two classically trained musicians playing a wide range of exciting repertoire for concerts, in care settings and for children.
Classical duo
Manchester

Trained in music at the University of Manchester, Libby (violin) and Raddon (accordion, piano and voice) are two young musicians who started performing together in 2020. They have both received the Proctor-Gregg Prize for Performance during their studies, performed as concerto soloists (for Raddon, as a trombonist) and, between them, played at the Aldeburgh Festival, in the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and at the Aurora Music Festival across Sweden. They began busking folk music at the end of the COVID-lockdown and are keen to make this repertoire an exciting and relevant part of their programmes. Alongside this, they have a broad range of concert repertoire, including classical pieces for violin and piano (as well as their own arrangements of other works), old and new jazz and popular songs from the shows. In short, something for everyone! The duo have a minimal set up and so are able to bring their music to a wide range of people and settings. Previous experience includes playing for the London-based children's charity Music House for Children's 'Little Birdsong Concerts', for outdoor parties, private concerts and on the street when the sun's shining.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We sometimes play with a bassist, guitarist or even another violinist, but usually it's just the two of us.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

At present, we don't provide a recorded music option before or between our sets. Hopefully our (live) playing will be enough for you!

How much time do you need to set up?

We can set up really quickly – usually in about 5-10 minutes! That said, it's nice to arrive early, so we like to do the actual setting up around 30 mins before (if possible).

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes, when we're playing violin/accordion music we can walk around wherever you like.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, just let us know if there are any you'd really like to hear.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, our gear costs are included.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We are happy to take requests to make your event unique to you, just let us know in good time!

Libby and Raddon were a joy to work with: they were reliable, polite and gave a polished performance. They came up with a program of pieces intelligently linked into twos and threes, composing the links themselves which worked very well. I made no alteration on their chosen material, this was a first for me. I have put on concerts for over fifteen years so have quite a bit of experience in these matters. My guests left thrilled after the concert.... what more can you ask. These two young musicians are exceptionally talented. I would not hesitate to recommend them and can see them fitting into any musical event. I would have them back at a drop of a hat.
