In the heart of bustling South London, Kofii, popularly known as 'Coffee', balances his dual life as a data architect by day and a soul singer by night. As the eldest of three siblings, he faced immense responsibilities and heartaches, especially after losing his vibrant father to a sudden heart attack, which deeply affected his brother’s mental health. The burden grew heavier when his ambitious baby sister died in a car crash, leaving unresolved conflicts that haunt him to this day. Seeking a fresh start, Coffee left his R&B boy-band and moved to the UK in 2011 as a skilled IT professional. He began busking in South London, quickly gaining attention and invitations to perform. During lockdown, his rooftop garden live streams brought music to many, leading to socially safe gigs and his first major break on The Voice UK in 2021. Although he didn’t get a turn from the judges, his journey continued with a standing ovation on ITV’s Starstruck and a performance in a Coca-Cola commercial. Performing for terminally ill individuals has become one of his most cherished experiences, creating lasting bonds with their families. Comments from fans, like one undergoing cancer therapy in Germany saying, “you touch souls, thank you for helping me heal,” and describing his voice as “something more than just the Voice, you bring love and energy into this world,” filled him with a sense of purpose. Sharing his gift has become a way to honor his father and sister, making his personal losses feel worthwhile. Coffee’s journey is a testament to the healing power of music and the resilience of the human spirit. Despite heartaches and challenges, he continues to inspire and touch lives, turning his grief into a source of strength and connection. His eclectic mix of soul, pop, funk, rock, R&B, and afrobeat reflects his rich British Nigerian heritage, resonating deeply with audiences worldwide.
