I've been obsessively writing, performing and producing music since I bought my first MIDI keyboard aged 15. I began playing drums in bands in 2008, and have never stopped; I have since had the privilege of playing hundreds of shows, and on dozens of records. From clubs to stadiums across the world, from basement venue free improv to meticulous professional studio sessions, I have a wide range of experience spanning all kinds of genres and projects. A genuinely fantastic experience. Edwin came prepared, full of insight and ready to work; in addition to this, he kept me laughing all day and even pointed me in the direction of some fine wines: what more could I ask? My advice to anyone looking for a drummer in the Edinburgh area (and beyond) is simple: book Edwin McLachlan.

Edwin arranged & performed live drums for a full band performance of my music for both festival and UK tour dates across 2018/19. Despite my music being written for only guitar and sequenced percussion, Edwin was able to seamlessly translate the feel of the songs to an acoustic-kit environment while maintaining the rigorous timekeeping required of such a task. The quality of his playing has earned him a place in my live band for a number of festival performances in North America / EU and UK in 2020.

Edwin is a fantastic engineer who has a talent for songwriting and production.
