Rooted in the folk tradition, my professional journey began in the family ceilidh band. This foundation in traditional music has since evolved into a multifaceted career as a musician, educator, and performing artist playing with Catriona MacDonald String Sisters and previously with Shooglenifty, consistently dedicated to delivering standout performances. With a focus on social engagements, I have established partnerships, recent work includes leading creative music and arts programmes. I am adept at developing innovative creative experiences, evidenced by soundtrack projects like Rock Opera and The World’s First Bicycle, which won awards at Interfilm Berlin short Film Festival, and international screenings including the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. My portfolio is broad ranging from environmental art commissions for BBC Scotland to directing ensembles. Whether performing in sessions, performing solo or facilitating a workshop, my practice remains grounded in the belief that the music can be transformative, and, above all, a shared human experience. As such I continue to seek out new creative adventures that offer audiences unique and memorable experiences.
