Berfin Aksu

Berfin Aksu is a concert violinist born in Turkey. In 2006, aged eight, she became Turkey’s youngest orchestral soloist. She studied with Lutsia Ibragimova at the Yehudi Menuhin School from 2012 to 2016 on a full scholarship, continued at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with First Class Honours, studying with Jack Liebeck. Selected work includes recitals at Wigmore Hall and Tonhalle Zürich; Fazıl Say’s 1001 Nights in the Harem; Max Bruch’s Adagio Appassionato for Sony Classical in 2019, with Howard Griffiths and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra; Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with Bursa Symphony Orchestra in 2022; and solo violin for The World of Hans Zimmer from 2024, on tour across Europe, the United States and Canada. She also works across voice, composition and improvisation, and gave a TEDx talk in Ankara in 2017. Classical training is the ground. Genre is not a limit. The same attention she learned for every sound of the violin carries into rooms of any size, from the recital hall to the arena.
