The Yekduy band came to play at our wedding party on 20 July at the Camley Street Natural Park near St Pancras. They were just perfect - their music filled the space with a joyous fun sound which our guests loved. They were a pleasure to work with and we completely recommend them to anyone wanting to create something special. Philip and Sapna

We cannot speak highly enough of Yekduy! We booked them on a few occasions at the Rosemary restaurant. Concerts to wine tasting festivals , parties, they were fantastic. They are the most talented, friendly, lovely musicians and it was a true pleasure to hear them play. Our guests loved their concerts. Their music is electrifying with the sweet sound of the vocals and violin to the charming cimbalom , guitar and bass lines. They have such a large range of genres and songs, and were so helpful in the build up to events. We often have customers compliment on their music and return to dine with us for the food and music experience. They’re always delighted to perform and bringing your favourite dance tunes to the stage. Would definitely recommend.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients love the unique sound, emotional energy and atmosphere we create. The combination of cimbalom, violin, vocals and guitar brings something truly distinctive to every event, creating memorable moments that guests remember.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed at many of the UK’s most iconic venues, both as an ensemble and as individual musicians, including Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Shepherd’s Bush Empire and Queen Elizabeth Hall, as well as venues across Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. We toured internationally, performing across the world from London, Europe, to Australia.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Our musicians come from diverse backgrounds, bringing together influences from classical music, jazz, Hungarian folk traditions and Romani music. Rather than being shaped by one particular artist, our sound is inspired by a wide range of musicians and traditions — from classical composers and jazz artists to the rich heritage of Hungarian and Romani music.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Our musicians have performed at many prestigious events and venues around the world. Janos, our cimbalom player, regularly performs with a 100-piece Gypsy Orchestra in Hungary, while Lori has contributed vocals to film music projects. Our violinist Krisz has performed at high-profile events and alongside artists including Alan Carr and Emeli Sandé.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our core line-up is a dynamic four-piece featuring strings, vocals, bass and a unique hammered dulcimer, creating a rich and distinctive sound. We’re highly versatile and can tailor the band to suit your event—offering a refined instrumental trio, an intimate duo, or expanding to a five or six-piece with saxophone and drums for a bigger, high-energy feel.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We understand that event plans can shift, and we’ll always do our best to be flexible. If your timings change, just let us know as early as possible so we can accommodate. Minor adjustments are usually no problem.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can provide a playlist service before, between and after our live sets to keep the atmosphere going.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually need 60–90 minutes to set up, depending on the line-up and venue. We always arrive in good time to be ready for your event.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes, we can perform acoustically among your guests, or our violinist and vocalist can move around during the performance to create a more engaging atmosphere. This requires advance planning and arrangement to ensure the performance works smoothly with the venue, timings and event format.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, we are happy to work with you on the repertoire and you can choose songs from our set list to help tailor the performance to your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, for our 3, 4 and 5-piece line-ups, standard sound equipment can be included where required. The exact requirements will always depend on the venue, event size and performance setup. We also regularly perform acoustically, which can be a great option for more intimate settings, smaller spaces.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, we are always happy to work with you and learn special song requests to help make your event unique. We can prepare new songs in advance where required, with a preparation fee of £50 per song. We will do our best to accommodate your choices. For more complex arrangements, we can advise on any additional preparation that may be needed.
