Woodside String Quartet was originally formed in 2010 by North West based violinist Tom Sykes (though he normally plays viola in the quartet). Tom has a First Class degree from Leeds College of Music, which is where he developed his interest in jazz and popular music as well as classical repertoire, and the range of music played by the quartet reflects this. The quartet has played at a variety of events, including a summer as the resident quartet at Liverpool One (sponsored by Liverpool Jazz). The quartet mostly performs at weddings and corporate events.

Woodside string quartet performed before the ceremony and at the drinks reception of our wedding in Aug 22. They were superb to communicate with, we wanted a mix of classical and modern music and Tom was kind enough to send over the entire updated repertoire. We had many comments regarding the band on and after the big day, we would highly recommend them. Thank you again Tom and the team for making our wedding day even more special.
