Having accrued more than 18 years of live and studio experience, I also provide a vocal coaching service for beginner to intermediate level singers. I teach based on previous experience and also from a recently gained higher diploma in vocal coaching, for which I undertook my studies at 'The Voice College' London.
My students range from those who have never sung in front of a live audience before and are at the very beginning stages of developing their vocal skills, to those who are semi-professional and would like to improve an already partially trained voice.
I offer lessons regardless of skill level, experience, age, race and gender.
My experience lies in modern and contemporary styles and my lessons would be best suited to those who enjoy or work in the same or similar areas of music.
My teaching style is fun, relaxed, informal and modern. I believe that music should be fun and that to really absorb information, you must feel confident and at ease.
I approach lessons on a step by step basis, in bite-sized, digestible chunks and along with some traditional exercises, I incorporate the music that YOU enjoy and want to sing, into the learning process.
I video record our sessions together (with your permission) so that you can enjoy witnessing your progress over time and also to re-visit the things we have worked on during our sessions.
I believe that in order to truly absorb anything new, you must first enjoy the process enough to really engage with it.
I have always felt that endless scales, archaic teaching exercises and classroom style learning do not encourage someone enough to want to progress within what should be a soulful experience.
I use the tried and tested techniques associated with quality vocal skills and sprinkle them with a little laughter, individuality and self expression.
Primarily, I travel to my student's home address, as I find people feel more relaxed in a familiar environment. I travel to students who are within a maximum distance of around 25 miles of HP18 0RH.
I also conduct lessons from my home address if it's more suitable for your circumstances and I am based in Kingswood, Buckinghamshire (between Aylesbury and Bicester).
Prices:
£25p/h Introductory First Lesson
£35 p/h (at my home address)
£45 p/h (at your home address)
£60 for 90 minute lesson (For upcoming events)
(90 minutes is the max lesson duration I offer, although I recommend a max lesson duration of 60 minutes in the beginning stages of our work together)
If you'd like to book an introductory lesson with me, then please contact me via the email address or telephone number provided on the next page.
Customer questions
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
I can be flexible within reason!
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Yes - Absolutely.
How much time do you need to set up?
90 mins to load in, setup and sound check ideally.
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
I provide my own set list but it's always well thought at for the event and contains something to please everyone!
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
Yes.
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
More than happy to learn specific songs that aren't on the repertoire for first dance, sentiment or other reasons but may charge more. Please ask.
What do your clients love most about your performances?
My energy and passion for what I do.
I've been a live singer and vocal coach now for all of my adult life (now 32) and I still love it every day. I still love seeing a student improve and I still love entertaining crowds and it shows in my performances.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
The Ned.
The O2.
Soho House.
Ronnie Scotts.
Individually many many more.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
Love a bit of old school jazz, soul and funk... so anything from that genre really.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
I have supported Van Morrison, played live at Earls Court Arena in front of 5000 and sing the main slot, main stage with my 5 piece jazz band at The Ned London regularly.
