About Weekend Retro Team

We are a classic rock, punk and indie covers band based in Oxford. We can provide a variety of sets to suit your needs.

Weekend Retro Team (WRT) are an Oxford based premium five piece function band suitable for weddings, birthday parties, corporate events and private functions. We cover a broad range of genres from the 60's up to the present day. It's your decision whether we provide a bespoke performance tailored to your preferences or a standard professional experience. In addition: WRT carry with them all of their own equipment from a professional audio sound system (2000W) , amplifiers (and lighting rigs?!) WRT offers background music that can be played before the bands main performance and during the intervals, resulting in a seamless experience. All equipment has been PAT tested for safety and the band carries £1m public liability insurance as standard. We aim to entertain people, and have fun doing it, in a reliable and professional manner with our clients. One world [Brillant] would describe this band , on time very smart , great music and singing , we had approx 120 people at our do , everyone i spoke to that night was most impressed with the vWeekend Retro Team, as was i , will certainly want to book them again , very impressed, one small thing , their promo video clip does not do them justice .

Weekend Retro Team were amazing! They arrived early, and set up promptly to start at the agreed time. And they were just such a vibe! We were up and dancing and just loving all the tunes. They had made an effort to relearn some of my favourite songs from the set list, and didn’t disappoint! Would highly recommend for all you events (mine was a 30th birthday). Thanks guys!

Weekend Retro Team were great! Communication before the event was excellent. We’ve had lots of feedback from our guests on how much they enjoyed the music. Despite the heatwave, they still got people up and dancing! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rob and the team. Thanks again!

This band were fantastic. We had them for our village Jubilee Street Party and they played fantastic music to suit all ages. Everyone enjoyed it and wanted to know who they were. They even played the National Anthem for us, rock style, which went down brilliantly! Thanks again for your professionalism, you really helped make the day!

Just to say what a great job you and the band did last night. You were absolutely fantastic, and had folks up and dancing from the first song. By the time you finished your second set EVERYONE was leaping up and down on the dance floor (I have the video to prove it!). A great choice of numbers, played with amazing energy and skill. I would absolutely recommend the band to anyone planning a party for any occasion.

We hired Weekend Retro team for our joint 70th birthday party. We love live music and dancing, and the band did not disappoint. On the day, they arrived promptly, set up and sound-checked quickly - a really friendly and easy going band. They had provided a set list from which we had chosen 30 songs spanning the decades from the 60’s to the noughties, all great tunes which everyone enjoyed. All our guests had a great time and commented how good the band were – the dancefloor was packed all night. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a live band for a special party!

Customer questions

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes. Our line-up in the video is what you get on the night. We have three singers in the band: two male one female.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up is as follows: Vocals, Guitar, Keys, Drums.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system for the band is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 2m by 3m space to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you.
