New look Viramundo, Formed in 1989 VIRAMUNDO are Europe`s longest established Brazilian/Latin band. Led by British born guitarist/singer PAUL RUMBOL. Paul has gathered together a glittering array of top International performers in the last 20 years or so & currently features some of the most talented Brazilian artists in Europe. XAVIER OSMIR (percussion/vocals), THAISE BRAGA (vocals) MARIUS RODRIGUES (drums), MATHEUS NOVA (bass), CHARLIE LEWIS (keys) GIULIANO PEREIRA (alto sax & flute) & MARCELO ANDRADE (sax & flute) The band have recorded 4 cd's: PRA DANÇAR, TRIBAL, REAL SOUNDS OF BRAZIL & BRAZUKA BEATS on their own label & in 2013 Paul Rumbol used all the members of the band to release his solo cd REFLECTIONS. Voted BEST MUSICAL BAND IN BRAZILIAN INTERNATIONAL PRESS AWARDS in 2013. 2011 saw the band presented with the prestigious Womatt Best of British Samba dancers uk award for pioneering achievements in the United Kingdom presenting African, Caribbean & Latin music & culture. Runner up in the LUKAS Awards best band 2019. Viramundo have appeared in & recorded many TV broadcasts over the years & have extensive experience playing festivals, functions & clubs, University Balls & all the top hotels in the UK and have also performed in France, Italy, Germany, Algeria, Armenia, Sweden, Denmark & Singapore. Recent engagements include the Bahrain Formula 1 event 2012 & entertainment for the Brazilian national football teams games. They have also been chosen to play private functions for such names as Mick Jagger, Madonna & Versace. Band members have recorded with such diverse artists as Basement Jaxx, Alcione, Carmel, Airto Moreira, Stevie Winwood, Mica Paris, Da Lata & Ed Motta to name but a few.
