About Vintage Voltage

Who said only dads could play #dadrock?! Four young musicians in flares and cowboy boots playing 70s Rock hits & Deep cuts ...
70s tribute band
Brighton
Public liability insurance of £1 million

Vintage Voltage here, a 70s Rock Experience band from Brighton. We’re here to prove that not only old men in wigs can play #dadrock! Just to be clear, we LOVE our dads (and their wigs) and wouldn’t be into this music if it weren’t for them. Having said that, we think we appeal to a larger and younger audience given we’re all under 30 and can still unbutton our shirts like Pagey and Planty used to ... During our gigs we transport the audience back in time to (re)live the heydays of Rock; when guitarists were gods and bands religions. We play many classic hits as well as deep cuts by the likes of Led Zeppelin, Free, Sabbath, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Santana, Queen, and many more ... A little on the band: Originally all of us met in Brighton at BIMM where we studied music performance. We've been playing in different bands together ever since (for 10+ years). The backbeat is provided by non other than Conor, who hails from Ireland originally. He loves a bit of Thin Lizzie and Zeppelin of course. On bass we've got Zac, an insane player who simply loves playing and can perform anything from Rush to Weather Report ... Evie is our amazing powerhouse of a vocalist, mostly inspired by the likes of Beth Heart and Ann Wilson. Folly our guitarist is the brainchild of this project. With the same Dutch Gouda running through his veins as Jan Akkerman and Eddie Van Halen, he plays fat riffs like it's nobody's business ...

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our raw energy, and in general that we spread love for 70s Rock, despite all being born many decades after the 70s.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

The Brunswick Slim Jims Bees Mouth Molenberg Pand 39 Low Road Studios Thruxton Racecourse St. Augestines Church The Hope & Anchor Pavillion Gardens Bootlegger Casablancas

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Heart, Free, Hendrix, and many more!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes, we play either as a 4 or 5 piece (extra keys or guitar), and tailor our set to the line-up and occasion.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know. The only instance in which a (significant) timing change would impact the general travel/logistics would be for a gig far away that's changed last minute.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

For an extra fee (that depends on how long before or after the set) yes we can!

How much time do you need to set up?

1.5 hours. We can also set the PA up first so we can playback music.

Can you roam around while you perform?

We have (limited) wireless options, if requested we can bring these. Obviously our drummer can't move, but the guitarist and singer can be wireless if needed.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. Although if available we can also use the backline on location (house kit, house PA etc.) We usually require a space large enough for a 4-5 piece rock band with a drum kit and amps to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We're happy to chat through the set and make sure we find what works for your event. If you have a more specific list of request, we can always look into that as well, although this might incur an extra fee.
