UnSwung Heroes BRASS are a horn driven New Orleans band, and the sister ensemble of the UnSwung Heroes Danceband. The brass band is characterised by its distinctive combination of two dedicated percussionists and a sousaphone, providing the classic New Orleans second line sound. This is supported by trumpets, trombones and clarinet to create a lively texture with infections dance rhythms and lots of noise! UnSwung BRASS have played across London, for clients such as Chestertons, The City Of London, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, International Beer Festival and the international Make Music Day parade along the banks of the river Thames, as well as countless weddings and private functions. If your wedding or event requires something fully acoustic and roaming or with a bit more infectious buzz to really get the party started, then UnSwung BRASS should be your band of choice!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

That we are high-energy, fun and ideal for a range of events and ages! We are also all professionally trained musicians and are responsive and easy to work with!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed at The Guildhall, St Paul's Cathedral, The Steelyard London, The Museum of London, The Barbican, Cheltenham Jazz Festival and countless weddings and private events!

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Youngblood Brass Band and Meute!

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes! Our standard lineup is our 8 piece setup! This includes: 2 percussion, sousaphone, saxophone, two trumpets and two trombones! Our 9 piece is for stage shows, and adds a vocalist! our 7 piece is with one static drummer and our 6 piece is with one less trumpet!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We are fully flexible up until the week of the event! In the week of the event, we will do everything we can to make sure we can meet your timings! We just ask to let us know with as much notice as you can! Timing changes on the day, we appreciate things can change, but will try alter break lengths in order to prioritise our musicians end time!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can! Usually we are a roaming acoustic set up, but can amplify. If you have booked us as an amplified setup, we can provide this for £100 extra. If we are booked acoustic, it would be £250 extra!

How much time do you need to set up?

If acoustic, literally 5 minutes! If amplified, around 60 minutes ideally, with time to make a little noise to soundcheck!

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes! That's mainly what we do, and we love doing it!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Absolutely, and all our clients are able to request two songs for free that we don't already play!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, we will quote to include all equipment required for us to perform in the way you request!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, absolutely! We offer two free song requests to all clients! After this, we charge £50 per song, to cover rehearsal times, arrangement fees and printing costs etc!
