Combining the talents of Kat Jones (vocalist) and Jon Evans (guitarist), both established musicians in their own right, Tusker is a unique take on stunning songs from the last 50 years of music. The duo formed in early 2023 and the aim is to bring music to music lovers. The songs we choose to perform are all from artists celebrated for their musicianship, but may not be the songs that you’re used to hearing in your local pub! If you’re looking for quality acoustic music with a difference, look no further.

Tusker played at our charity afternoon tea event at The Angel Hotel and they were brilliant. The guests all commented on how great they were. They were also professional, great to work with and we really enjoyed their beautiful covers.

Watched these guys at The Six Bells in Coity. They were awesome. A great mix of music and the performance was truly stunning. A few songs that I hadn’t heard in a while and I thoroughly enjoyed! Great music. Great musicians.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We are unique. We perform songs that many people haven’t heard in a long time but that everyone knows and recognises. It’s often been said that people can ‘hear a pin drop’ when we perform.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed at bars, pubs, charity events, weddings, wedding fayres, corporate events, music festivals, food & drink festivals and special ticketed events.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Anything from the 80s! We love Peter Gabriel and Janis Joplin. We also love Hayley Reinhardt and Larkin Poe because they do some amazing covers of stunning songs.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Music festivals, food & drink festivals (Barry & Llanelli South Wales)

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line up is one vocalist and one guitarist.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We’ll always be as flexible as possible and try to cater for wherever the event needs. We know things often change as planning develops, so just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can provide free background music both before hand and in between sets. We keep it appropriate to the kind of music that we perform. We don’t provide a DJ service via our PA.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually ask to arrive around 1 hour before we perform. We have a quick set and will play music as soon as the speakers are up to help set the mood.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No - we don’t have roaming microphones so we will need a dedicated performance space.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes of course. You can choose from any of the songs that we have listed or you can leave it up to us!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes. We require 2 plug sockets and a space of at least 2x2m ideally.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If there’s a special song that you’d like, please let us know. We will charge a fee of £30 to learn one song (accounting for extra rehearsal time) but there could be a chance that we already know it.
