Tribo da Gafieira

Tribo da Gafieira is a collective of some of the finest Latin Music Singers and Players in the UK. Gafieira is a weekend Dance in Brazil, so Samba and Forro are always favourites with the dancers, but you might hear R'n B, Samba-Funk, Rap, or even Reggae, with lots of grooves to make you move ! Brainchild of international Drummer/Percussionist Felix Gibbons, and featuring different singers like Pepe Barcellos, Fabão of Rio's famous Monobloco and Aleh Ferreira singer of the legendary Banda Black Rio, a household name in Brazil after his huge hit 'Dona da Banca', these musicians have played with international stars ranging from Bjork, Elvis Costello and The Specials to Seu Jorge, Martinho da Vila, and Gilberto Gil to name but a few. Working in different formats from Bossa Trio right up to 12-piece Dance Orchestra they create Magic Carnival Vibes, and a Mid-Summer Festive Buzz that makes the Sunset twist and the Stars twinkle in the sky to the Breezing Sound of the Samba !
