I am a professional Percussionist and teacher, who has been teaching and performing both nationally and internationally for the past 15 years. I have studied percussion in Brazil, Cuba and Djembe in Gambia West Africa and have also studied with Master Drummer Seneke Sillah also from the Gambia. This diverse knowledge has helped me develop a unique playing style which enhances other music genres such as Jazz, Funk, Soul and Pop. My playing experience involves projects as diverse as; West end musicals, Thriller Live (Michael Jackson's music), Jazz fusion with Xantone Blacq (The late Amy Winehouse's Keyboard player) Billy Ocean and Mbilla Arts (Gambian dance project). Since 2013 I have worked each summer as a Music Practitioner for a charity called “NCS Powered by the Challenge” who provide 15-17 year olds with three weeks of challenges which help them learn new skills and experiences and meet new people within their communities. My task was to teach them Afro-Brazilian percussion over three days, the third day was a showcase for their families.. I have been doing this for three years now and this is an ongoing project which I thoroughly enjoy. My skills we're also required as a Professional Music Trainer with NCS. As a trainer, I was responsible for planning and delivering Brazilian Percussion training sessions to the Music Practitioners, in order to ensure that they are able to deliver the  training curriculum provided by NCS, to be able to teach this to 15-17 year old children who have signed up to the NCS programme and to fulfil the aims of the training, by ensuring that the participants are sufficiently equipped and resourced and provide with a high quality experience, by delivering inspiring and motivating training sessions.

Sonido Bossanova are hugely entertaining, performing their unique blend of Brazilian classics and songs of other genres in a Bossa Nova style. The duo perform for audiences in healthcare venues on behalf of charity Music in Hospitals & Care, the repertoire is uplifting, often” bringing the beach” to the most clinical of healthcare settings. They are fun and refreshing, encouraging toe tapping and participation from audiences both old and young. Some recent feedback includes: “The performers were excellent. The audience were clapping, singing and dancing along for the whole concert. The audience said they loved them, please could they have them back again” “Sonido Bossa Nova are fantastic and the audience have asked them to return sooner rather than later”

We have been booking Sonido Bossanova regularly for over a year now at the Archduke. As well as being reliable, they are very sensitive musicians, able to understand and blend in with the mood of the venue, providing just the right ambience to enhance our customers experience. Highly recommended.
