We are a London-based group play folk(ish) classics from Bob Dylan to Big Thief. While Matt and Rob have backgrounds in jazz, Enda has a background in classical music. We channel our disprate musical histories into our love of folk music. Our vocal harmonies and frequent improvised solos are the highlights of our performances. We like to keep things relaxed while celebrating the great songwriters of the past and present. We regularly perform at The Hillbilly Social in Bounds Green and staged our first solo performance at the Cricklewood Library in January 2026. We are well suited to perform in a wide range of contexts from a regular slot in a pub to a wedding reception. We are always keen to learn new music and can take requests for events. Please check out the videos on our profile to get a sense of our playing.

The Watershed Trio’s performance at the library in January was a really enjoyable evening that suited the space perfectly. Their mix of guitar, trombone and piano gave a fresh, and sometimes surprising, take on folk music, with simple, well-judged arrangements that let the tunes speak for themselves. There was a strong sense of connection between the three musicians. They listened closely to each other and played with an easy, natural dynamic—not forced, just a clear understanding of how to balance their sound. The trombone added a distinctive colour, working well alongside the guitar and piano without ever overpowering them. Enda’s vocals were a highlight: clear, warm and expressive, with a delivery that felt genuine and unshowy. The audience were clearly appreciative throughout, and the atmosphere in the room was relaxed and attentive. There were definitely some members of the audience quietly singing along with the band for the well-known numbers! It felt like a shared experience rather than a formal concert. Overall, a well-received performance with great musicianship and an easy rapport between the players. We’d love to have them back at the library.

Last Friday of the month is live music night at my local library and January marked the first visit from the Watershed Trio. What a great band...a keyboard player, guitarist and trombone player all with fabulous voices...gave us an evening of some well known songs and lesser known gems all delivered with feeling and style and brilliant musicality...an evening of great playing and wonderful harmonising that came to a close all too soon. The genuinely enthusiastic applause spoke of everyone's enjoyment...looking forward to the chance to hear them again.
