The Swing Ninjas

BIO Starting out life as a busking trio, The Swing Ninjas, now up to an 8-piece band, headline festivals from Virginia to Bahrain. Playing and singing a mix of New Orleans' swing and new UK swing, with a modern musical flair, this Brighton (UK) based band is taking the sound of a raucous 1930s band to all stages and parties that can fit them on. With 2 original albums and 4 albums of classic New Orleans / UK swing and jazz, it’s little wonder this fun-loving, charming and soulful group play over 150 shows a year. Uniquely, they can be mobile (walkabout) or mic'd up on stage - or both! 100 year-old music is given a breathe of fresh air by the highly skilled energetic performance, group vocal harmonies, immaculate dress and tongue-in-cheek charm of the band. This is not stagnant swing and jazz as you know it. The main band comprises of alto sax, helicon/tuba, Gibson guitar, double bass, piano and drums (depending on the size of band) and features group vocal harmonies. GIG HIGHLIGHTS Recent public gig highlights include a tour to Virgina (USA) New Orleans (USA), Bahrain Jazz Festival (Bahrain), Lenk (Switzerland), WOMAD Festival (UK), Twinwood Festival (UK), Guinness Jazz Festival (Ireland), Hamburg Lindy Exchange (2014), Moods Jazz Club (Zurich), Oxford Lindy Exchange, Moulin Rouge (Paris), Chill Out Festival (Istanbul), White Mink (London), Royal Albert Hall (London), as well as playing dance events and parties in Germany, Italy, France, Holland, Monaco, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal and a plethora of other venues, festivals and parties in cities around Europe.
