About The South West Bounce

Bournemouth's most well-rounded pop, soul, and RnB party band!
Party band
Bournemouth
Public liability insurance of £5 million

The South West Bounce is one of Bournemouth’s most well-rounded party bands covering the best in pop and soul with a delightful sprinkling of RnB and hip-hop party songs. Their specialty lies within the pop genre but they also have lots of other epic songs that are crowd pleasers and keep the dancefloor full all night long. The South West Bounce comes as an 8-piece band, their full lineup is lead vocals, keys, guitar, bass, drums, and a brass section of trumpet, sax, and trombone. The band can also downsize to a 4-piece lineup with lead female vocals, bass, guitar or keys, and drums. Clients are regularly blown away by the overall impact of the band’s performance, with clients regularly “over the moon with their exceptional performance!” The South West Bounce have individually been filling dancefloors for quite some time now, which means you can count on them to carry out a slick and professional operation from start to finish. They’re also well-versed at reading the room and will really put their all into getting that party going from the very first song. The band is fronted by Rebecca, their absolutely fantastic vocalist who has experience performing in front of huge crowds all over the world. Rebecca’s vocal tones sit perfectly on sweet first dances, current pop chart toppers, and those golden classics. Rebecca, who studied Creative Musicianship at BIMM in London, has toured the world on cruise liners and been an integral part of show teams across the UK and abroad. She has also performed in Barcelona, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and off-strip cabaret shows in Las Vegas, and has an impressive number of performances at festivals across the country, such as IOW festival and Reading and Leeds. Rebecca is supported by Will on guitar, Josh on bass, Stuart on keys, Ed on drums, and their full brass section with Becky on trumpet, Eve on sax, and Steph on trombone. Collectively they have all studied at some of the most prestigious musical educational facilities in the UK and around the world, including the British Institute of Modern Music, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar in Germany, and BIMM in Brighton and London. Because of their ability and talent, the band members are full-time musicians being booked on tour or called in to record with major artists. So you can book with total peace of mind knowing that these are some of the most in-demand players in the music industry and that you truly can expect to have the cream of the crop at your event. The South West Bounce’s band members have played with the likes of Mark Letteri (Snarky Puppy), Pee Wee Elis (James Brown), Ronan Keating, Krystal Roxx, and Punchdrunk; have performed at; Wembley Arena, Bestival, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Amsterdam Melkweg, Lusty Glaze, Shindig Festival, The London O2, SSE Arena Belfast, Edinburgh Playhouse, Usher Hal, they have toured the UK, Ireland, Norway, Switzerland, Barcelona, and USA; have headlined many festivals with tributes including Bowie & Meatloaf; have done residencies at The Royal Albert Hall with Cirque Du Soleil; and can be seen and heard in BBC Good Omens, Maleficent 2, ITV’s new years celebration for the Lionesses’ win. I think you’ll agree that they've more than earned their stripes. Rebecca leads the way in The South West Bounce as she belts out the band's varied repertoire, from artists such as Dusty Springfield, Kelis, Queen, and Dua Lipa. The band has a repertoire of over 100 songs covering the 1950s to the current top 40, and specialises in pop and retro pop, though their repertoire also covers funk, soul, RnB, hip-hop, disco, glam rock, rock, and indie. The South West Bounce welcomes you to tailor the setlist for your big day. For a standard 2x60 mins or 3x40mins performance you can select up to 32 songs from the band’s 100 song repertoire, and the band will endeavour to accommodate all of your requests, given a month’s notice. For short-notice bookings, you are still very welcome to send over your suggestions, and as always, the band will do their utmost to accommodate as many requests as possible. The South West Bounce is also very happy to learn an ‘off the menu’ song request for you, for example, a first dance or your favourite song. Upon booking, you will have a dedicated band manager as your point of contact to ensure the band is 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your event. Having this point of contact means you can count on excellent, fast, friendly, and warm communication at all times. It also means that come the big day every single crease will be ironed out and it will mean smooth sailing for both client and band alike. All in all, The South West Bounce are a very friendly and flexible bunch and take great pride in providing excellent musicianship and creating a really fun atmosphere wherever they go. The band has a big long list of songs spanning different genres and decades for you to pick from and can play complimentary playlist music (which you are welcome to tailor) before, in-between and after live sets until curfew. The band can be on site for up to 7 hours, or until midnight as standard. They are happy to accommodate early arrivals before 5pm and late stays after midnight if needed too. The band is also able to provide a band member DJ-ing should you wish to have a live DJ before, between, or after band sets. The band brings a full PA and lighting rig with them wherever they go, so all you need to do is book the band and you can tick the entertainment off your to-do list in one fell swoop because The South West Bounce will have you covered. If you've any questions about the band and what they offer please don't hesitate, they’ll be more than happy to help.

A fantastic performance from a group of really talented musicians, producing a medley of pop, soul and uplifting tunes. They had the whole party singing, dancing and wanting more! Great people as well, we couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Just to say everything was perfect! After doing lots of research and searching for a band to play our wedding we struggled for months to find anything that would be anything near perfect and then I found The South West Bounce after watching their video I knew straight away that was the perfect band for the big day! I was absolutely thrilled when they were available as well. It really was the best day and the band just topped an already perfect day! They turned up on time and quickly got set up and ready. They started with a request that they learned in two weeks ( which was covered beautifully) and continued with a superb set. They were friendly and enthusiastic . Every guest at the wedding really enjoyed them. I couldn't rate the day any higher

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

People tend to comment on our vocals and musicianship, but we like to think that's a lot to do with our chemistry!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

So many! Majority of the wedding venues in England, for sure. And of course, lots of different music halls and venues, pubs, hotels. We get around 😂 Here's a couple places we've been at: Royal Albert Hall, The London O2, SSE Arena Belfast, Edinburgh Playhouse and Usher Hall.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

The Beatles, Queen, Stevie Wonder, Chet Baker, Freddie Hubbard, Håkan Hardenberger, Winton Marsalis, Maurice Ravel, Johnny Greenwood, Rick Wakeman, Hiromi, Jacob Collier, Lianne La Havas, Sinead Harnet, Celine Dion, and Etta James.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Probably supporting Ronan Keating is one to shout about or working with Cirque Du Soleil!

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes, Rebecca will be the vocalist you have for your event! If she is unavailable, we'll let you know prior to booking and provide you with alternative vocalist options. Should your booked vocalist fall ill or become unable to attend we'd let you know and provide you with alternative options and work with you to make sure you are totally happy.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard lineup is a 5-piece: lead female vocals, bass, guitar, keys, and drums. We can downsize to a 4-piece, or upsize to a 6, 7 or 8-piece with saxophone, trombone, and trumpet.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We're super flexible. Our rate includes the band on site for 7 hours up until midnight. So you can flex that around as much as you'd like. and if you'd like a late stay or an early arrival, just let us know and we can give you a quote!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We provide a Spotify playlist service before and inbetween sets. We have a standard 'love themed' one for weddings, and a 'party themed' one for other events. You're also welcome to provide your own Spotify playlist link and we'll play that for you.

How much time do you need to set up?

90 minutes in total for the band (60 mins setup & 30 mins sound check). If you add DJ on as well it's an extra 30 mins (20 setup, and 10mins soundcheck)

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes! You're welcome to suggest songs from our vast repertoire! We endeavour to performance all of your requests, though we do ask to have a little leeway on the final setlist, and if we perceive a certain genre is going down well on the night we may adjust the setlist to ensure a brill party atmosphere.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, it is! We provide a PA and lighting system for the band and stage area. For a 4 and 5-pc band we ask for 3x4m at a minimum; and for the 6, 7 and 8-pc we ask for 3x5m at a minimum.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Every booking comes with one 'off the menu' song request, which is often the first dance. For additional songs, it's £50-£88 per song.
